“Hello?” I say over the phone, my heartbeat loud enough for anyone who was a few metres away from me to hear. I still had no idea what I was doing or if it was the best option but I was doing it either ways.
“Hello. Who is this?” Anthony’s voice booms through the phone speaker. Words seem to be stuck in my throat upon hearing him speak.
This was really happening.
“This is uh... This is Melissa.” I say, holding my breath in as I spoke. The line goes silent for a few minutes.
“Oh my God, Melissa. How..what happened?” His voice cracked as he spoke.
“Can we meet up? I’ll explain everything to you then.” I say. “Yeah, of course. We need to. Where do I meet you? At your office?” Anthony said, confirming my suspicion that he already knew who I was.
