Before I start, I would like to go over some important background information related to the storyline.
The world at which my characters live resembles that of a medieval fantasy video game. There are many types of animal shifters in this world, from wolf, to badger, and yes, fox. Unlike many other stories, shifters are unable to hide their animal unless using magic; however, not many shifters use this technique, as it requires immense power and the assistance of a witch. While in their human forms, shifters will resemble that of their animal, having the ears and tail of that species.
Although shifters are excepted within the kingdom, their kind is limited to the outskirts of the land; the majority of the population residing in the forests to the north of the capital. My characters however, live in the mountains to the south-east; as the number of shifters dwindle the closer you travel south, they are the only shifters in their village.
The Moon Goddess, creator of werewolves, does not exist in my story; however, the kingdom houses gods and goddesses similar to that of Ancient Greek or Norse mythology. A handful of whom will be addressed in the story.
