Chapter 24 Nathan’s POV Were things supposed to be this difficult? I knew she was mad at me, so I left her to it, placing the food outside her door and letting her know. Then I heard a knock at the door. “Luna?” I questioned when I saw her at my door. I opened it so she could come in and offered her a drink. “Sorry to be blunt Luna, but can I help?” “Nathan, how many times, its just Sylvia.” She said, sitting at the table whilst I handed her a cup of tea. I shook my head, ignoring once again her request to call her by her first name. Even if I had saved her before, she was still my Luna. “Honestly, I came to talk to Freybelle. Fenn told me about the deal you made, and I must say I was surprised you agreed to it. I have been watching you both all week and I’m surprised you both haven’t given in and left or just told him where to go. Then it got me thinking about after. I wanted to know what her plan was once this was over. However, I don’t see her here.” “Oh…” I laughed nervously. “She’s gone to bed early. She wasn’t feeling great.” I sat down across from her and sipped my tea too. “So has the Alpha realised I’m not spelled?” I asked and she frowned. “I think he has, but he isn’t willing to let it go easily. He says you cannot be mate bonded to a witch. He thinks it’s a cruel irony after what I went through.” She sighed heavily. “He doesn’t want her here and even if half the pack like her, which they now do, he wants her gone as soon as possible.” I glared at the Luna, knowing it wasn’t all her fault, but she had gone along with him in the beginning. “I know I’m partly to blame Nathan, you can stop the glaring. Thats why I’m here. There is no way she can stay here after her coven is destroyed but that doesn’t mean I want to turn her out in the cold either. I want to know she has a plan.” I sucked air through my teeth. Annoyed yet again. “She does, but she needs to use her magic to figure it out. Her goddess has been trying to contact her to tell her about the next steps in this plan that she has, however it means using magic to communicate with her and she doesn’t want to, for fear of upsetting you guys…” I trailed off. “Oh.” Was all the Luna had to reply to that. We stayed silent for a few moments before the Luna spoke again. “Fenn tells me that when the time comes you will be heading out with a practical army to do the scrying spell and that will be immediately after my final healing spell, is that right?” I nodded, wondering wat her point was. “Well, maybe you need to go and do some scouting to see where the best places to stay would be… and Frey has to stay in your line of sight at all times…” She raised her eyebrows playfully. “Oh… oh!” I got her drift She could use magic freely away from the pack. If we went to look around, she could do any spells she wanted and maybe we could figure this mate bond thing out too. “Theres a truck you can take and go the long way around the mountains towards the village. Then take a few days to scout out the area before coming back. Luna’s orders.” I smiled, grateful to her. “Don’t say thank you yet. I fear I might not be able to protect her in the long run, but this is at least a start in the right direction. Right?” I nodded. “It is Luna.” I answered. “Tell Freybelle thankyou and I will see her in a week’s time.” She smiled but then looked at the stairs before heading out of the house. I knew Freybelle was listening from the stairs. Freybelle’s POV The Luna left and Nathan didn’t turn around, but I knew he had sensed me there. The Luna had looked straight at me. If id been able to use magic, neither of them would have seen me. “Now, when should we set off. I mean, if Frey wasn’t so mad at me, we could set off tonight after I speak to Alpha Fenn but, alas, she is mad at me.” I had to resist the urge to throw my dinner plate at him. “Maybe tomorrow or the day after if she doesn’t speak to me. Although she will be bored out of her mind again.” “Give it a rest Nathan, you know I’m here, stop the dramatics.” I growled, striding through the kitchen to wash my dinner plate. Then I sensed his presence behind me, he was so close I could feel the het from his body through my nightdress. I turned around and tried to sidestep him, but he put his hands around me onto the countertops, keeping me pinned in place without actually touching me. “So, tonight or tomorrow or the day after?” He asked and the playful energy he was feeling surrounded me. I crossed my arms, looking at him with a curious raised eyebrow. He wasn’t serious was he? Trying to play as if he hadn’t been lying to me all week, as if he hadn’t mistrusted me or practically acting like he hated me. “You only have to forgive me tonight if you want to spend some time alone, out of scrutiny.” “I’m still mad at you.” I stated, simply. Then he dropped his head and grazed my neck with his lips. “I know, and I am sorry.” He said, sending shivers through me. Damn him! “Nathan.” I warned but before I could move, I was sucked into a memory. However, this wasn’t the usual memory. There was no one else, just Nathan in this memory. He was in the shower, naked and… oh god. I tried to close my eyes but obviously Nathan hadn’t done so in the memory so I couldn’t. He was stroking… himself, muttering my name over and over again. I watched the scene with mock disgust, but secretly I was extremely hot and bothered by the scene and enjoying that he was muttering my name. He finally closed his eyes, and I was spared the end of the memory as he groaned in pleasure. When it finished, I knew I was bright red and practically dripping with sweat from the heat within me. “I thought you said you could control your feelings now.” I snapped as he pulled away from me, a huge smile on his face. “Oh, I can…” He chuckled before walking upstairs. I gave myself a few moments before following him up and finding him packing a bag. He then threw me a backpack. “Pack up so we can leave tonight.” He said, his tone soft, not demanding. “I didn’t say id forgiven you.” I snapped, throwing the bag back. He turned to catch it, quickly before smiling a little mischievously. “You didn’t need to… I might not be able to see memories or feel feelings, but I could see I was forgiven as soon as you came back to the real world.” He chuckled, turning around and carrying on packing.
