"Carman just came back in through the back gate; she should be reaching the clubhouse," Tech texted me. I look up to see her coming in the back door.
I side-eye Bash; he gives me a nod, letting me know he saw her too. Joy had told us that she was in her room, and she had gone to lie down after she stepped out of Joy's room.
Tech had tracked her phone when Joy called her a while ago. We had an address, but I wanted to wait till she was in the clubhouse before I made a move. That, and Tech was still working on her phone; he said he could hack into it and find out who she had been talking to.
After I had calmed down, Tech came to me, saying he looked through the security footage and saw Piper leaving out the back door, then slipping off the compound grounds. The one camera show
