Kael fell forward, landing hard on the uneven ground of the void. Not solid, not earth, not even air—just an intangible space that twisted and pulsed beneath his claws. His wolf instincts screamed at him. This place is alive.
“Nara…” he whispered, voice strained. “Hold on. I’ll find you.”
But the void was merciless. Shapes of shadows rose from the darkness, each one forming twisted versions of the pack he knew—some friends, some foes, all warped into grotesque reflections of memory.
