Nara’s heart pounded in her chest as the amber-eyed figure stepped closer, a predatory smile curving their lips. The cave’s shadows twisted and stretched unnaturally, as if drawn to the tension in the air. Her paws—or rather her trembling hands in human form—glowed faintly, the bond thrumming violently in her chest.
