WHISPERS OF THE PAST The forest was eerily silent as Nara followed Kael back toward the packhouse. Dawn’s first light filtered through the treetops, painting silver streaks across the moss-covered ground. Every step felt heavy, her muscles still trembling from the fight in the cave. The energy surging within her had subsided, but the bond pulsed insistently, almost as if whispering warnings she couldn’t yet decipher. Kael’s eyes scanned the shadows, sharp and vigilant. “The betrayal inside your pack is only the beginning,” he said, voice low, tense. “Those who envy your bloodline… those who fear it… they will act sooner than you expect.
