The ground quaked beneath Nara’s feet, trees bending unnaturally under the weight of the Shadow King’s power. Shadows twisted and writhed, creeping like black rivers toward the Keep. Nara gripped Kael’s hand, their bond pulsing violently. Her mother’s essence inside her screamed, guiding her, whispering the path to the hidden chamber.
“We need to get to the artifact,” Nara said, voice tight with urgency. “It’s the only way to stop him.”
Kael’s amber eyes flickered, worry shadowing his features. His curse surged uncontrollably, lightning crackling across his fur. “If you’re wrong, Nara… it could kill you.”
“I have to try,” she said firmly. “Not just for me… for all of us.”
He hesitated, then nodded. “Then let’s move. Together.”
