Asher POV I knew she was trouble the second I caught her scent. Not the kind that comes with danger in the way I’m used to or the sharp edge of something meant to challenge me. It was something worse, something that settled under my skin and refused to leave. New York has never been mine. It’s too full of people and noise that grates against every instinct I have.
