Ella pushes for answers a few more times before she finally realizes I’m not going to give her anything she wants. I know she noticed the change in Liam as he fought against his wolf. She knows something is terribly, incredibly off, and I just can’t tell her.
As soon as Lucien caught a whiff of her when she arrived in town, he was already on her like a pig to mud. If I tell her more than I need to right now, the danger she’s already in will increase ten-fold. And I just can’t have that.
