POV: Emerald
Emerald naturally introduced Brad as “Jared Winslow" of the Dior marketing department.
Sophia could not take her eyes off of Brad; but not entirely because she was dumbstruck by his looks though that could not be entirely scotched.
Dinner became even livelier and more fun. Brad and Emmy played well off of each other. If she didn't know better, Sophia would assume that they had been a couple for years, complete with their own language and inside jokes.
Sophia excused herself right after dessert—she needed to get home to the boyfriend before he got testy. That was her cover story. Unfortunately, it was more true than not. Sophia felt quite fine about leaving Emerald with Jared.
Before she left, Sophia lit the fuse: “Jared, have we met before? You seem so familiar."
