An Unforgettable Discovery

Teresa became scared to the wits. She stood in a position and held her breath as Guillermo and Stefano drew closer towards her direction to know who was also with them in the woods. “I won't hurt you, I promise. I just need to know who is there.” Stefano lied as he echoed the words loudly. Teresa knew now more than ever that if she surrendered she would likely be dead by morning. She could see Stefano five feet away from where she hid herself but still chose to stay firm and hold her breath. “My lord, I don't think there is anyone here. I really haven't heard any movement in the woods since we came here.” One of the gang members said. “Same here, I believe it was probably the wind.” Another gang member chipped in. “Alright then let's head back to KING,” Stefano said as he turned back so they could leave. Shortly after they left for KING and Teresa could finally release her breath. She began painting so hard but was still shocked as regards what she just found out. She had a mixed feeling that she couldn't tell if she should just start crying or if she should be happy for the truth. Teresa soon heard a passerby sound in the woods and immediately took her heels back to Mrs Rachel’s house. She immediately rushed into the house, thinking the old couple would be fast asleep but sadly for her there was a catch. “You were out?” Mrs Rachel asked, seeing Teresa rush back in. “Yes…yes…I quickly went outside for a walk.” Teresa lied. “It's too risky for you to go out there, Teresa. I know you want your freedom but now isn't just the time.” Teresa gave a fake smile and said “I totally understand.” “Are you fine?” Mrs Rachel noticed. “Yes, I am, just a bit tired. I will head to bed now.” She waved at Mrs Rachel goodnight and headed for the room. Teresa immediately entered and shut the door right behind her. It felt as though the pains from her discovery of the truth about the stranger she loved came alive in her heart as she began to weep. “I have finally lost everything,” she said as she cried profusely. Teresa began to reminisce about how she met Stefano and his attributes. Everything began to now make sense to her. It made her cry more for her mistakes that could have been avoided. Hours passed and Teresa couldn't stop herself from crying. The first time she ever felt the way she does for someone only to figure out he was her sworn enemy. The hurt was so deep that she cried her eyes to sleep. ************ Stefano began pacing back and forth the room with his face looking all disturbed. Vincent stood by the door and kept watching him for some minutes before he finally spoke “You aren't sleeping, my lord.” Vincent asked Stefano. “I know. I don't know why I feel she came to the woods today.” “That's impossible, we covered the whole area. There is no way she could have entered the woods without us knowing.” “You have a good point, Vincent.” Stefano commended him. “A thought has been crossing through my mind any time I think of the whereabouts of this strange lady.” Vincent chipped in. “What's it exactly?” Stefano curiously asked. “The only area we haven't really covered is the Convent and why? Because we say it's sacred to them.” Vincent said. “So what are you driving at?” Stefano still looked confused as he stared at Vincent while he spoke. “I am saying she may be hiding at the convent and besides the appearance she wore to the club that night with the other lady looked more like a uniform than a club attire. The dress showed like she was a reverend sister or whatever they call themselves.” “And besides when we went there the last time they tricked us into believing their insanity about sacredness that we didn't get to check through the convent.” Stefano opened his mouth in amazement as he looked at Vincent. “Wow! Why couldn't I think of this.” Stefano was dumbfounded. “You have done well, Vincent.” Stefano acknowledged Vincent for his efforts and good sense of reasoning as he told him to go gather all the men together for their visit to the convent first thing in the morning. If it required that they turned the convent upside down to find Teresa, now they are ready to do so. Stefano didn't want to believe that the convent would involve themselves in such injustice but at this point, he didn't mind doing anything to find Teresa. “We storm the Convent tomorrow,” Stefano said in fury. *** Mother Superior sat in her office with a calm look as she stared at the across from her. “I will repeat it again, I do not know what you are talking about. We do not have the one you are asking of here.” Stefano held a cold smirk on his face as he played with his fingers,” Really? Then how did I hear of the fact that you have the one I am looking for in your Covent? It's either you being her out or bear the consequences” “You think barging in here is not enough insult already? This is a holy place where no one can just come in and do whatever they want. Let me remind you of your actions today, it is pure sin, and your reward is in hell” Motter Superior said with great disdain. Just then a gang member who has been sent to search the Covent entered with a confused look,” King, she is not here.” Stefano looked at him coldly and then back at Mother Superior who was smiling calmly at him. “I told you we do not have the one you're looking for” Stefanos stood up and without a word walked toward the door but Mother Superior's words stopped him in his tracks, “You have embarrassed and thrown dirt in our Covent. You will surely pay for this” Stefano said nothing in response and just left. Sister Margaret who stood nervously behind Mother Superior exhaled when Stefano left. Looking at Mother Superior, she knew she was also feeling the same. “It's a good thing Teresa is not here, I wouldn't know what to do in this situation,” Mother Superior said evidently relieved this is over. “Thankfully” Sister Margaret replied. Mother Superior stood up and walked towards the window facing the city and sighed. “I hope Teresa is already far away from this place,” she said with great concern on her face.
