Chapter Seventeen
Marilyn was late on the set of her new film ‘The Misfits’ as usual and Clark Gable was trying to remain calm. She had a way of melting any objection to her lateness or insistence to do every scene dozens of times but it was starting to wear a bit thin.
Clark turns to Eli Wallach and says, “As much as I love her, if that girl raises my blood pressure one more time I’m outta here.”
Marilyn gives a heart rendering performance about the fate of the horses that Clark Gabel’s character is looking to catch to make into glue. Even industry veteran Clark was almost moved to tears and shakes his head, “Whatever that girl’s got I wish I could bottle it.”
