“His mom,” Gee said to my dismay.
My eyes bulged as the imps of Hell surrounded us. “Why didn’t you tell me this before? Like when she was still alive!”
“Well, I thought I recognised her, but I wasn’t certain. Old people kind of all look the same to me. And she wasn’t around for very long, either.”
The obvious dawned on me, smacking me right between the eyes with its ridiculousness. “So, you’re telling me the Dead Council actually killed the Devil’s mom by mistake?”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot about that.” Gee chuckled. “They’re going to be in a world of pain when the big D finds out, if he hasn’t already. They really c****d up big and solid this time.”
