CHAPTER 2. NEO FERNANDEZ

"Mom, I-"

Naputol sa ere ang sasabihin ko nang makita kung sino ang bisita nila Mommy. Shocks.

I cleared my throat. Wala ka namang choice, Xaria. Besides, ano ngayon kung hindi ka naka ayos? As if Neo would even pay attention.

Hinila ko ang upuan sa tabi ni Mommy and silently join them. Nasa harap ko si Neo kaya hindi ko mapigilang hindi siya tignan.

"May gusto siyang lalaki pero malabo daw siyang magustuhan sabi niya" Mommy butt in

I held her hand to stop her. Jusko ka Mommy!

They all laughed. "I bet that guy doesn't have any taste. Sino naman ang aayaw sayo right, Olive?"

Yung anak niyo po Tita Elizabeth.

Mas lalong lumaki ang ngisi ni Mommy "Right, kumare" Mommy answered.

After that, they continued talking about business while I silently eat my food. Paminsan minsan ay napapasulyap ako kay Neo.

His nose is very pointed. His hodded eyes really matches his personality. His lips are also perfect. Mas mapula pa kesa sa akin!

After I ate my food, I joined their conversation for a while before I excused myself.

I need to get ready because I need to attend a meeting.

Naligo lang ako at nag bihis. I wear a fitted black dress and I put white blazer on, to make it more formal. I put light make up on and i just let my hair down.

I need look presentable lalo na at malaking company ito.

After getting ready, bumaba na din ako and to my my shock, Neo is still here.

"Mom, Dad sorry to disturb you but I need to go now"

Nanlaki ang mata ko at napalingon kay Neo. Wow that's.... that's new.

I saw him playing his tongue inside his cheek before he stoop up.

Nag paalam siya kila mommy at daddy tsaka naunang umalis ng dining area.

Nauna din siyang sumakay sakanyang kotse. It's a freaking black Mercedes benz!

Akala ko nga ay iiwan na talaga ako dahil binuksan niya ang makina at bahagyang umandar pero agad ding huminto.

Bumuntong hininga ako. Pa salamat ka gwapo ka!

Sumakay ako sa sasakyan niya at tahimik na naupo sa tabi niya.

Kung kanina ay excited ako, ngayon parang gusto ko nalang bumaba. The awkwardness that surrounds me is killing me.

I cleared my throat para sana makiramdam siya. Can we atleast listen to music nalang if you don't want to talk to me????

"Uhm, Are you sure okay lang na isabay mo ako?" I asked.

Pagkabukas ko ng cellphone ay sakto namamg tumawag si Darienne.

"Sis, asan ka na?" she asked.

Bumuntong hininga ako bago sumagot "Ano na naman?"

"Baka pwede namang pasundo? Sira yung car ko ih, please? Tsaka madadaanan mo naman bahay namin"

i looked at Neo. Madilim ang mata niyang diretsong naka tingin sa daan at tahimik na nag mamaneho.

"But Dari, Nakisabay lang ak-" .

"Please, Xaria"

Bumuntong hininga ako at umirap. Muli kong sinulyapan si Neo.

"Fine. Tawag ako kung malapit na ako"

I ended the call and gathered all my strength to try to talk to Neo once again.

"Uhm, Neo"

Hindi siya lumingon but this time, he responded. "What?"

"Dari just... She just hmmm... Called me. And uhm, nag papasundo siya. Madadaanan naman natin yung bahay niya pero if ayaw mo you can just drop me in front of her gate"

"Ok"

"Okay means, pwede siyang sumabay?" I asked again.

He nodded his head. Napabuntong hininga ako. Buti naman at pumayag siya.

It just took us 10 minutes bago kami nakarating sa bahay ni Dari.

I tried calling her phone pero hindi siya sumasagot kaya bumababa ako ng kotse para tawagin siya

Pero hindi pa man gaanong nakakalayo ay agad nang humarurot ang sasakyan ni Neo paalis.

My jaw literally drop! Wth! Iniwan niya ako. He could've just told me na ayaw niya pala hindi yung pumayag payag siya tapos iiwan din pala ako! You freaking jerk!
