Zelia Log entry – June 1716 If the winds continue being this favourable, we should reach Fort-de-France within a week. Which is preferable. Changes in the weather indicate that a storm is to be expected. We have not encountered any other ships up to date. I scratch out the last part. This is not my diary where I can plot my revenge. With a sigh, I close the book and make my way to the deck. I truly am concerned about the weather, and I hope we reach our destination before the storm hits. The sun is burning merciless on my arms and chest when I walk onto the deck. My once fair skin is now birched. Sweat is forming on my forehead as I look onto the horizon.
