“Don’t get upset with him.” I kept having to whisper that over and over again to get my head on right before I knocked on Kal’s apartment door and yes I know where he lives, because of this being a small town in Louisiana everyone knows everyone also because I went to highschool with this dipshit so I been knew where he had lived.

People never change like Jason likes to say. Also, Jason wasn’t wrong when he said me and Kal having beef. It started when I stole Kal’s girlfriend knowing she was going out with him. Maybe I just wanted to compete with him back then since everyone kept saying we were on the same level of hotness, I know childish. I just couldn’t stand someone beating me at my own game so every chance I got of taking his girlfriends away I would and vice versa with Kal but he had to go and ruin it in senior year when he said it wasn’t fun anymore.

Before I could knock Kal answered the door. The thing though he wasn’t wearing much. Just some jogging pants that hangs low and I could see that he had a deep V. I had to move my eyes quickly up to his face and he had a cocky smile on his face. He lifted the glasses up on his face so it wouldn’t hang low on his nose. His chest was ripped, this man did not look like a nurse, he looked like he belonged playing professional football. I swallowed before I started talking get mind away from those kinds of thoughts and he wondered why I competed with him. Every girl wanted Kal back then and when they couldn't have him I was second best choice. I mean I know I’m sexy but compared to him…

“...Umm are you going to tell me what you came here for or are you still going to ogle my sexy body.” Kal says and I could just hear the smugness in his voice.

“Please, you wish. I’m just telling myself not to kill you,” Kal raised and eyebrow at that but still let me in his apartment and ushered me to his kitchen where he went to get a cup of coffee. I just sat at the counter waiting for him to finish. “Anyway, Jason just wanted me to come over here to tell you a couple of things since you left the house so earlier.”

“Why does this information pertain to me? I’m not a elemental just a spearintink.”

“Kal, if a Roarin gets a hold of your scent it’s for life. So you're actually in danger and your little combustion power don’t solve anything since they just reform seconds later. My brother says you're under our protection until we can figure out how to kill these demons.”

“Oh I see, the Holden brothers are actually picking up responsibility. I mean I can understand Jason taking being an elemental seriously but you?! Reme, Dyl, and Ty too? I can’t see that.”

“Did I ask for your opinion?”

Kal started laughing at this until we heard the tv in his living room say my name and brothers. We went to go look at it and I held my breath at what that stupid f*****g reporter was saying. He just put me and my brothers in danger for doing this! Also I was confused the reporter said there is only five elementals that the moon made and not more but if that’s the case that Roarin smelled a mate in that hospital room before I came in and it was only Erin, and Kal in that room but they are both boys and last time I checked all of my brothers are male as well. Does that mean one of us is gay? Or two of us?

“Huh? Looks like one of your brothers are gay and mated to Erin.” Kal smirks out.

I held breath even more because I remembered Kal opening that door before I knocked and I immediately remembered some things from Wentworth Academy about mates, one was that you can always sense your mate nearby without even realizing it and two you are tied to their emotions if you have a deep enough bond with them.

“Kal? How did you know I was at your front door?”

Kal visibly stilled and turned his head towards me and looked me in my eyes. Then and there I knew he just knew, I was there but he smiled at me and lied.

“I could see you through my living room window walking up to my door.”

I went right along with it and denied it, cuz it could very well be Erin and Dyl that’s mated. But even in the back of my mind I could still hear Jason say that both of them could be mates of elementals and if my brothers and I are the only ones as elementals like the news said then I was in very big trouble.

“Hey, that news reporter said something that confused me. If we’re the only elementals and that Roarin went into that hospital room sniffing out a elemental’s mate, does that mean one of us is gay? Or two of us since Kal was there as well?” Ty asks and scratches his head on the other couch sitting next to Reme, Jason, and Em who were all thinking about it.

“Well, this is awkward.” I whisper and Dyl just smirks at me which makes this even more embarrassing.

“Erin is probably mated to Dyl, I mean Ty, Jason, and even Ry seem like unlikely candidates,” Reme says and smirks at his twin. “I mean I knew you guys were closer than typical guy bestfriends.”

“Oh god.” I whisper and my cheeks heat up.

“It’s fine, Erin, probably when you're a elementals mate of another guy they just probably start to form a...bromance?” Dyl questions and Jason shakes his head.

“Nope, Dyl it’s actually what mate means not matter the gender it’s romantically. I remember from Wentworth when it was still open.”

“Ok, well Kal was in that room too, so no need to panic I’m sure it was him and probably Ry since they have history.” Dyl says trying to make sense of it. Reme smirks at his twin brother and says the most disturbing thing ever to Dyl.

“You remember what Jason said it could be both of them that are mates.”
