He chuckled. “How do you even know my house?” I asked in amazement. “Really, you like someone already? You just started in-” “Dice, drop my diary. Just drop it. Drop it” I shouted, but he didn’t. “What is even in here? Oh, he seemed cool. I really did like him, but he actually proved me wrong today. He said he could never fall in love” “Dice stop” I said as I snatched it from him. He looked at me. His eyes. He began coming close to me. I moved backwards till my back hit the wall. He was near me now and I looked at him. “You called me a weak elite. Probably a daddy’s boy, right?” I nodded yes. “Answer me. I need your words, not your expressions” he said as he pinned my hands to the wall. “Yes, yes” I lamented in pain. He looked at me, and I did the same. “Dice, I'm sorry” I said in a low tone. He still didn't let go of me. “Why are you into him?” “He- he just approached me. I'm not into him” He squeezed my arm, and I screamed in pain. “I'm sorry” I said, still scared of what he'd do next. He pulled up my jaw and made me look into his eyes. There was something about those eyes that made me not stop looking at them. His eyes- they were calm. I guess I'd apply Jason's word here; his eyes shone like a thousand sapphires. He slowly let go of my hand, and they dropped on my sides. I felt a sharp pain in both wrists. He tried leaving, but I held his hand. He looked at his wrist then at me. “Don't go, please,” I said. He came close to me. I didn't know how I got the courage. I pulled him a bit closer with his right hand above my head. I leaned forward to kiss him, but I stopped midway. “Why did you stop?” He said as I noticed his hands running their way into my skirt. I shivered. I held the collar of his shirt as I closed my eyes. “Look at me,” he said in a calm yet authoritative voice. I obeyed. I leaned in to kiss him when I heard, “Jasmine!” “Damien,” I said, shocked. God, not when he was in my room. “Hope you ain't naked, I'm coming” he said as he shouted from the stairs. Without even telling him anything, he jumped out of the window. My heart leapt, my head was confused, my eyes wandered about. The door opened. “I kept calling you. You were out with Milo, right?” “Yes, we- we urm, we- went out” “What's up with you? Why are you sweating even when it's cold?” “Me? No, I'm fine. I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me” “Ok, if you say so. Just rest. You might soon start running a temperature” “Yes, I will. Good night” I said as I quickly climbed into bed and covered myself with my duvet. “Oh-kaaaaaay. Good night too” ********** I got to school the next day. I didn't feel like it, but I had to. I still couldn't believe what happened. He almost touched me. We almost kissed. This was something I've been longing for, right? “Jas, how are you, baby?” Amira asked. “I'm okay,” I said plainly. “You don't sound okay to me” Milo walked in, and I traced his steps from the entrance of the class. “There is something you aren't telling me. Did you guys fight?” “No” “Ok. Did he try to r**e you?” “He tried to kiss me” “Really? Is that why you guys aren't talking?” “He tried doing it when I was helpless. Can we just end this conversation?” “Fine,” she said as she got up from my desk. Throughout class, I couldn't concentrate. My mind wandered. I just couldn't place what happened yesterday. Everything happened fast. I decided to join the sports team as an extracurricular activity. We did exercises, which included jogging. While jogging, my mind still wandered about. I couldn't put a straight and clear thought in my head. Look at me ….I promise to always be there for you Words kept running through my mind. Suddenly, my head began spinning. I stopped. Someone tapped me from behind. I turned around. “Blondie, I’m sorry. I didn't mean to go against you. Trust me, I feel so bad for approaching you that way. Please” His words sounded clear, but he, in my eyes, was double. “Blondie, I said I'm sorry” I held him. “Jasmine, are you okay?” I held him tighter. My sight was fading. “Blondie. Jasm-” I slumped, but he caught me right on time. I struggled to keep my eyes open. “Jasmine, Jasmine” He shouted as he carried me. I wish I could tell him I did like him but couldn't stay with him. He didn't deserve to get hurt. I put my head on his shoulder and blacked out. ************** I woke up and found myself in my room. “Guys, she's awake” Amira shouted. Damien came inside the room and pecked my forehead. “Why did you stress yourself?” “I didn't. I don't know how I fainted” “Jasmine” Milo called. “I forgive you, I'm sorry too” “I'll have to get going. It's pretty late already” he said. “Us too, baby. We'll meet you in class tomorrow” They all left. Damien sat down close to me. I sat up, but I had a sharp pain in my head. “Take water” he said as he gave me a glass of water. I noticed the way he looked at me. “What?” “I need the truth and nothing but the truth. What do you have with him?” “Milo? Nothing” “You know who I'm talking about?” “It's just Milo” “Jasmine!” he shouted. “It's nothing. We just met at the ball” “And?” “I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't know he was your roommate” “When you did, what was your next move?” “Nothing” “You can't be having something with my friend” “I like him. I've never liked someone like that before. I-” “Oh my God! Jasmine stop” “But it's true” I said as I began crying. “I have never liked someone like this. He makes me feel comfortable. He makes me feel loved. There is just this feeling that I-” “Jesus” he said as he hit his hand on the wall. “It's true. You said you wanted the truth” “What the f**k happened to Milo? Why him? Why?” “Cause I love him” he stared at me amazed. “I love him, yes. I do. I love him” Silence reigned in the room. “Jasmine. For the sake of your sanity and for peace to reign between the two of us. Stay away from Dice” “But-” He slammed the door. I felt shattered. I cried as though my life depended on loving him. I felt more confused than ever. “God please”
