CHAPTER 4 - MY NEW CRUSH

1387 Words
We headed home after classes. We stopped by and got ourselves pizza and drinks. Rose couldn't stop roaming around the house. I’m sure she even entered Damien’s room. “Rose, come here, let’s help Jasmine find a dress for this party” “Amira, are you sure about this?” I asked, feeling nervous. “You need to calm down, baby. I am not a bad friend. I am not a party person either, but from what you told me, you’ve been locked in all your life” “Yes, Jas. You need to socialise. What's a human being if you don’t socialise?” Rose added. “I don’t even like that gender called Male, and believe me, it’s so dope that in our world today, you are still a virgin. I’m not condemning you. Rose is too, but she has done a whole lot of things, just not s*x” I kept quiet. “Just party once. It won’t kill you baby” I looked at Rose, and she gave me a “you can do it” o9signal. “Fine but I don’t have a party dress” “I’ll get one online for you. Here, just pick something you like” “You’ll pay?” I asked. “Of course I will. Anything for my Jasmine” I smiled and hugged her. “Hurry up. It’s almost dressing time” I picked a white satin camisole and a black mini skirt, strappy heels, gold accessories, and a mini bag. We dressed up and headed for the party. Dad wasn’t around, so my exiting was easy. We got to the venue and I found out it was organised by our schoolmates. Amelia held my hand like a child. She told me not to drink no matter what. I was beginning to love her. God, may this friendship last. “Hey guys” Amelia said as we got to a round couch where people I remembered to be my classmates sat. “So, the new girl parties, huh?” Emmett said as he looked at me. “Emmett stop it” Amelia said as she gave him a knock. “So guys, you all-” while she introduced me, I noticed someone whose eyes couldn’t go off of me. Milo. He was such a quiet guy, but from the incident with Dice, I don’t think I can ever trust a quiet guy, ever. My phone rang, and it was Damien calling. I hurried out of the party so he wouldn’t be able to notice where I was. He only wanted to check up on me and know my whereabouts. “You don’t need to hide it. I know Milo threw a party” “How did you know?” “Just take care. Be safe” I ended the call and about heading in for the party, I saw Milo. “Jasmine” he said as he looked at me from head to toe. “Hi” I said as I brought out my hand for a handshake, but he ignored it. “Why are you in Leman?” “No reason” I answered, confused by the question he just asked. Did he know me from somewhere? “Let’s go out from here” “But it’s your party” “It doesn’t matter” he held my hand gently and made me follow him. We got to a park nearby, and we sat down. It took time before he talked. “I love your outfit” “Thanks” I said. We talked about other stuff, family, and friends. He was really a cool guy. “It’s pretty late. I need to get going” “It’s just 10:43” “I can’t wait. I need to go” “Mind if I drop you off” I agreed, and I got into his car. With the help of my direction, we arrived safely. “Thanks for the ride” I said as I tried opening the door, but he held my hand. “Do you mind us seeing after classes tomorrow?” “I don’t know. Time?” “I’ll come pick you up by six”I hesitated for a while, then agreed. He took my phone and searched his name on Snapchat. “We’ll chat” “Sure.Goodnight” “Goodnight” and he left. I stood there as I watched his car disappear. I was happy, though. Party life wasn’t that bad. I freshened up and took my diary. While writing, Milo texted. I smiled when I saw his text. It was a night of laughter, and I felt my spirit becoming lively. Indeed, what’s a human being without socialising? *********** “Oh my God! The new girl got her taste high” Rose said, and we laughed. “It’s not about taste. He approached me first” “And you agreed to follow him. I mean, you are improving. You see, all this life won’t stop you from reading. Anybody who’s gonna fail will fail” Amelia said while we had lunch in the school’s cafeteria. “She’s lucky, though. Milo is a cool guy. If he wants to date you, he will, and he loves carelessly” Rose said. “And for him to approach you, he actually has an interest in you” Amelia said. “And he’ll probably ask you out,” Rose added. “Isn’t all this going fast?” I asked, feeling nervous. “I don’t know if I want to date. Dating? I don’t really know?” “No one is forcing you to do anything. We are just telling you about the person you are dealing with. If he asks you out and you don’t want to, it’s fine” Amelia said. “Yeah, you need to listen to Amelia. She’s been friends with Milo since middle school. They are best friends” Rose said. I sighed. About talking, I saw him approaching. He smiled at me from a distance, and I did the same too. “Awwn” the both girls said. I felt myself blushing hard. *********** He came over a few minutes past six and picked me up. “So, pick a restaurant” “Me?” “Pick” he said as he gave me a list of restaurants. “Milo, I don’t know” “Hold on, call my name again” “I said Milo,” he laughed. “You sound like a baby in kindergarten," “Stop” I said, blushing. He looked at me for what seemed like ages. I felt uncomfortable with it. “Milo stop,” He laughed and started driving. We didn’t go to the restaurant anymore. We went to what seemed like a beach. We sat down on the sand and talked. We talked more than we did last night. I got to know that he was an orphan and that his education was sponsored by his uncle. I told him about Mum, too. How she died of a heart attack when she found out that my dad was cheating on her with my cousin. We both let out each other's pain. I literally found myself crying. “I miss mum. She wouldn’t let me come to Lèman if she were alive” “If you didn’t come, then how would I have found you” he said as he cleaned my tears. “Don’t cry. I care, okay, and I promise to always be there for you” he put his hands in mine and looked at me. He came closer to me and drew my jaw closer. I wasn’t in for this. I stood up and walked towards the car. He opened the car and I got in. Nobody talked to each other till we got home. “Blondie, I’m sorry” I didn’t say anything. I got out of the car and left. I was still in shock at what would have happened now. I took a glass of water. I headed for the stairs. I entered my room and pounced on the bed without even thinking of turning on the light. I entered my closet to get my clothes changed. Suddenly, I heard my door closing. I came out quickly. “Why are you here?”
