Victoria grumbled under her breath the entire way back into the mansion, her legs trembling with every step. Her stomach felt hollow and raw, but the dizziness was getting worse. *If I don’t eat something soon, I’m going to collapse right here in the hallway.* She slipped into the vast, dimly lit kitchen and went straight for the refrigerator. The sight of the food inside turned her stomach with fresh repulsion. She closed it quickly and moved to the freezer instead, muttering, “It can’t be… there’s no way they kept my stuff.” She dug through layers of frozen boxes and containers, pushing aside what felt like a thousand things until—there, tucked in the very back, was her precious tub of coconut ice cream.
