Chapter 4

280 Words
Jake's POV "Argh, why won't this headache go away!!!!" I shout at no one in particular. "You know it's because it's almost your 18th birthday, it's your wolf trying to communicate with you" my best friend and future beta Eric says to me. I scoff and throw myself back onto my bed. Well atleast I get to skip school today. My name is Jake Carter and I am the future Alpha to the Golden moon pack. We are based in the forest outside of Puyallup, Seattle in the Washington State. I have dark brown messy hair and blue eyes. I am about 6.3 feet tall. I have an athletic build and have a few tattoos on my arms and back. Mostly of wolves and moons. I am the captain of the football team at Forest Hill High, our mascot is a wolf, go figure. Some may say that it's unfair for a werewolf to play football but we don't actually get our wolves till we turn 18. Plus the humans don't know what we are anyway. Eric and I are talking about the away game we will be having this coming Friday at Pheonix high in Kenmore. I'm feeling so nervous, I don't know why, but it is almost as if something is calling me to Kenmore. As if a part of me that is missing is there. I wonder if it is my mate? I've heard so much about the mate bond and the pull you feel the closer you get to the age of 18. I'm sure it's that. "Earth to Jake" Eric says. "s**t sorry man, it's this headache" I say brushing off thoughts of my mate.
