We live in Seattle, Washington State in a small town called Kenmore. I attend Pheonix high, "Go fighting pheonixes" or whatever. Our school is pretty basic and like most highschools. There are the popular girls, the nerds, the jocks, skanks, geeks, stoners, band geeks, and all those in between.
I am an in-between, I don't really fit into a specific category and have therefor gone through highschool unrecognized and left alone by the popular kids until recently. I have a best friend, her name is Aubrey Jones. She has short shoulder length black hair with pretty brown eyes. We both do really well and study hard. She is that type of girl that everyone gets along with, she is just great.
I walk to my locker to gather my books for my first class. Aubrey comes running in my direction, late as always. "Hey girl, did you have a good weekend?"... she asks with an expectant smile on her face... what did I do this weekend again, oh yes, "My weekend was good Aubs, I mostly just chilled and read my book, went for lunch with my parents and watched a few movies... and you?". She smiles widely while gathering her books, we have the same first class and we start walking together, "My weekend was absolutely fantastic, I met this guy, and we hit it off, one thing led to another and you know..." she wiggles her eyebrows at me and I burst out laughing. "Gosh Aubs, you are the worst. Will you be seeing him again?" I ask. "I hope so, he goes to the local collage, he is hot, tall, dreamy and hot... wait I said that already" she says gushing.
The day does by quickly and I'm ready to make my way home. On my way out I accidentally run into the queen bee of the school, "Watch yourself b***h" she says as she slaps my books out of my hands. I ignore her as per usual and bend down to pick up my stuff. Her minions are laughing as she steps on the last book I'm trying to pick up.... "What... are you too good to speak to us Ms goody two shoes?" She sneers. I'm about to answer her when one of the popular guys says "That's enough Alexis", she steps off of my book, I'm about to say thank you when he says "she's not worth our time anyway", they all start laughing at me and walk away.
Once I get home I text Aubrey and tell her about my encounter with Alexis, "What a bunch of assholes, you can be glad I was not there I would have shoved her stupid high heel shoe up her butt" I can't help but laugh at my best friends response. Am I really that beneath them? I think Aubrey and I are pretty awesome, but I may be a little biased.
