**Tillie Cont’d** “This has been a very emotionally charged morning. We’re going to break for lunch. Everyone be back here in exactly one hour. Attorneys in my chambers, please,” the judge says, pounding his gavel. “You did so good, baby. I’m so proud of you,” Jake says, his eyes red from crying. “There wasn’t a dry eye in that courtroom. You won. Nothing they can do is going to change that.” I nod, looking past him to Maggie. “I wasn’t ever brave enough to tell you or anyone else for that matter. You gave me that strength, Tillie, and I love you for it,” Maggie whispers, a small sob escaping me as she finishes.
