207 Words
One night, she was the last one in the office, finishing a presentation. The lights dimmed — and then came his voice. “Still working?” She turned, startled. Liam stood by the doorway, tie loosened, sleeves rolled up. He looked tired — but devastatingly handsome. “I just wanted to make sure it’s perfect,” she said softly. “It already is,” he replied. “You always go beyond.” Silence stretched, filled with something unspoken. The air felt heavier. He stepped closer, and Ava felt her pulse quicken. “Be careful, Ava,” he said finally, his voice low. “You make it hard to keep things professional.” Then he left — leaving her breathless, confused, and tempted. The next few weeks were torture. Every meeting was a dance between desire and restraint. Their connection deepened — through long stares, quiet smiles, and the rhythm of unspoken words. But rumors began to swirl. Ava’s promotion came too quickly. A few whispered that Liam had favorites. The gossip hurt her more than she expected. One evening, after a stormy meeting, she confronted him. “People think I’m only here because of you,” she said, trembling. “I worked hard for this, Liam.”
