Harriett drove me off the Wynes’ territory. “Are you sure you would be okay?” Although he appeared to be some relative that hated my soul, It was the opposite. He cared for me. He loved me. Not as much as Astley or Mom. He really loved me though.
“I shall be alright.” I paused before speaking again. “I chose this path, Now I had to deal with it.” He sighed.
“Can’t believe that all of the Wynes just waited for your downfall.” He gave me a look. He kissed me on my forehead. “Can I punch Giovanni on the face?” He chuckled. But I know that he’s more than capable to do so.
“Not on my watch.” I laughed. “Just drop me off the park nearby.”
I looked at him. His eyes were showing this look like it was talking to my soul. Saying not to go. Showing his worries. “Can’t I accompany you to Riofrer? I promise, I would not cause any harm. I just want to see you safe.”
I just looked down. Telling him silently that no. He can’t. The car approached the park, I opened the car’s door and kissed Harriett goodbye.
“Listen, If anything happens. Call me. I’ll gladly fetch and hide you from everyone. I can also ask forgiveness from Papa.”
I let out a small grin. “You know you can’t fix papa’s mind.” He looked at me with a grumpy face. I chuckled. “I’ll call you.” I breathed before I ran.
I looked at the car and wait until he left with his vehicle. After he left, I approached the swing. I smiled. Am I making the right decision?
Because of this goddamn swing, I got ousted by my own family. I deeply regret seeing my father’s face covered with disappointment. I couldn’t care any less for the other relatives.
I felt as slight push on my back. Making the swing move.
But, Of course, I couldn’t risk my beloved Giovanni. I stood up. I looked at him. Just like the old times. Still the most perfect face ever.
I caressed his cheeks. “You found me.” I started. He looked at my lips with that emotionless expression. “You look sad.” He simply said. I sat on the swing again. Just facing him this time.
“They know now.” As I expected. He didn’t react. I continued. “I am supposed to marry you tomorrow.” He sighed.
“You regret it?” I thought for a bit before answering him. “ What could made me regret loving you, My dearest Giovanni?”
He smiled for a bit. He leaned down and kissed my nose. “I will introduce you to my family.” I got nervous and before I can spoke.
“Don’t worry. I’ll look after you.” Everytime he says that line. I always surrender. I trust him.
My heart thunders while Giovanni was driving. I was scared of meeting the Riofrers. They are a lot to handle. I can’t imagine myself being in the same room as them. I almost faint when i thought of it. Being in the same room as them.
“We are here.” He announced softly. I touched his arms. “I don’t think I can face your family.” He hold my chin. “Trust me in this.” He went out the car and opened the door on my side. He held my hand and guided me while getting out of the car.
A huge and lifeless mansion appeared in my way. It was different from my family’s. It only revolves on beige, black and white. Even the nude colours barely made an appearance on the exterior design. My hands held Giovanni’s tighter. We entered his home. It was silent and soul less. I did not dare to speak and make a noise. Even Giovanni’s steps are as silent as if he was never there. We walked through a few stairs and stopped on one of the mansion’s floor. I couldn’t even count which floor is this. That’s how huge the Mansion of Riofrers are.
I looked around. It was dark. Not exactly type of the dark you’ll see at a lightless place. This room had a few couches. Long couch, Couch for one person. A few different kinds. The chandelier had a faint warm light. The house looked empty and really dark. I can barely see what’s in it. Thankfully the window’s curtains were tied, Giving a slight view of the moonlight.
“But no one is here?” I whispered. Giovanni kept silent. Until there was a shadow that dashed past me. It was faster than my eye blinking. “What’s up, brother.” A tall man sat on the couch. I gasped. He turned his eyes on me. “Oh, You’re here too. Hello, Beaut.” He smiled at me.
He looked like Giovanni. Just a little older. And he had a faint of colour brown on his eyes. Unlike Giovanni’s pure emerald eyes. I smiled. “Good Evening, Sir.”
His eyes widen. “Sir? Giovanni! She just called me sir!” He dashed in front of me and touched my face. Giovanni slapped it off me. “Ouch! Rude, Brother”
I stared at him. Only then I noticed that there were more shadows around the room. I blinked to surprise. I explored my eyes around, There were 6 Giovannis around me. They were scattered sitting on the couches.
“Master.” Giovanni walked, holding me to the old man. He reached its hand and placed it on his forehead. It was a tradition of the mafias. A motion of asking blessing from the Mafia Lord. “Giovanni.” The old man replied. He looked at me. I didn’t know what to do. So I bowed. “Sir.”
“She is a proper woman. Isn’t she?” One of the clones of Giovanni.
“ Is she your woman?” The Old Man pertained to me. “Yes, Father.” Giovanni replied. The Old Man got off the couch and reached my hand. I did the same thing as Giovanni did.
“My name is Dregideon Riofrer. Nice seeing you, Heiress of the Wynes. Pardon me. I guess Just Lady Wynes now.” I bit my lips. He knew me. And he surely knows that I betrayed my father by going to his territory .
Every clone of Giovanni stood up. “A Wynes??” one of them whispered. “How brave.”
“What is she? A bait?” The man who approached me earlier.
“Clever Giovanni. Capturing a heiress.” Another man.
“I am to wed her.” Each of them reacted in certain expressions.
“And when? I did not even know you had a woman?” A grumpier Riofrer said.
“At this instance.” Giovanni said and kneeled. Inserting a ruby ring at my finger.
