Visited her home

Chapter 15 Alpha Erubas POV It was difficult for me to suddenly start dating just like humans since it's not in our tradition, but I have to take things slow and act like a human, maybe I will be able to win her heart, and she won't have any option than to accept me later. Since she said yes to me via text yesterday, I guess we can now be called boyfriend and girlfriend. I left home this morning and headed to her house after I was done with my usual morning routine. I spent all night, surfing the internet and trying to get some information about how I can treat my girlfriend, and it's pretty weird the things that the internet taught me. It's weird, going to her house to pick her up for work, but I know that I really have to do this if I want to win her heart. Her place doesn't look so great and well furnished, but that is not my problem, anyway. "Wow! You are here, Mr. Xander?" The way her friend smiled at me when I came here moment ago, is creepy. I think she must've told the young lady that we are going to be dating later. Since she offered to go help me get her from the room, I had to wait for her in the living room. The sound of the footsteps drawing close minutes later pulls my attention, and I raise my gaze to see her friend walk in with a wide smile playing on her lips. "I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting, my in-law. Your wife will soon join you here," She says shyly as she sits on the couch, while I just stare at her blankly, wondering what she's talking about. We are just going to start dating, why is she calling me her in-law? "It's fine," I reply to her regardless. "Do you want me to get you anything to eat? We don't have much at home right now, so we may not have something that will fit your taste," She sighs briefly, but I slowly shake my head. Silence creeps in afterward, and I sigh silently in relief that she finally stopped talking because it's already driving me to the edge of craziness. "You know, Sophie hasn't really been with any man in a while now, so this is going to be pretty hard on her. You should please treat her nicely, and don't make her regret her decision," She breaks the silence, and I nod my head after I glance at her. Just like Sophie, I think she also talks a lot. How come I get bored with this one talking, and love listening to Sophie? "She's your mate, have you forgotten that?" I remind myself. "Hmm... I will treat her nicely," I reply to her, and she winks at me as she flips her hair backward. For seconds, I feel like she is trying to flirt with me, but I guess she's just a crazy young lady. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, Sir. You didn't really have to come here to pick me up," Sophie says as she barges into the living room while arranging her bag hurriedly. My heart flutters at the sight of the beauty standing in front of me. Her flawless beauty is everything that makes me drool at her, no matter how much I try to control myself. I feel my wolf wavers excitedly inside me as it struggles to crawl out through my eyes to look at our mate, but I try to hold him down because I can't let her know our secret. It may scare her away. "It's fine," I reply to her as I stand up to my feet, ready for her to follow me outside so we can head to the office. "Come on, Sophie... You don't have to call your boss that. He is your boyfriend, and going to be your husband soon, so why are you formal with him?" Her friend says as she cups her cheeks in her palms, and Sophie sighs briefly before she turns to glare at the young lady that won't just stop talking. I guess that is who she is, but I love the sound of that anyway. "Can you just shut your mouth and stop being meddlesome? You are unbelievable," Sophie snaps at her before she strides out of the house, slamming the door hard behind her. "I'm sorry, my in-law. I'm just a bit excited. Anyway, you should go meet your woman. Let's have dinner together here some other time when you are free. You are now a part of our family, and we should treat you as one," She says to me before I finally leave the house, and head to where I park my car. "I'm sorry... My friend is usually like that," She apologizes as I drive us to the office later. "It's fine," I reply to her casually, focusing on driving afterward. I feel my heart racing rapidly like it's on a marathon. The atmosphere is not quite nice, since I don't even know what to talk about. It's my first time being in a relationship, and although I have learnt a lot on the internet yesterday, I still feel a bit nervous around her. 'You have to be calm and confident around her. No woman likes a man that gets nervous around her' as much as I want to act upon what I learned on the internet, I still feel so vulnerable around her, maybe because of the mate bond, or maybe it's because it's my first time trying out a relationship all my life. "It's awkward," She breaks the silence before she turns her gaze away, and I nod my head. "I'm sorry, I'm not just good at communication. You can talk if you have anything to say," I try not to stutter as I say to her, and she hums. "Uhm... Are we dating now?" She asks as she glances at me, and I nod my head. "Yes, we are," I reply to her, and she nods her head, silence creeping in afterward. "Do you have some time to spare after work? We can hang out together, and have fun, you know?" I say to her, trying to be a romantic boyfriend that I know won't even work, because why should it? I'm giving it my all now, but it only seems like I'm wasting my time and energy because it's not really my style of relating with my mate. What am I supposed to do in this situation where I only have this option? "Yes, Sir..." "You can just call me Erubas, or Xander. You are my girlfriend now, and it'll be weird for you to keep calling me that," I cut her off, and she glances at me before she sighs briefly. "Erubas...is that your real name?" She suddenly asks, and I glance at her to see her looking confused. "Yes. Xander is my surname," I reply to her, and her lips curve. "That sounds weird though," She mutters, but I still heard her. I always love how straightforward she is. "Yeah, I get that a lot. I think it's a rare name," I reply to her, even though I'm forcing this conversation. "Do you want to watch a movie tonight?" She suddenly asks...
