Chapter 06

Next morning when Sarah came down, Jason was already sitting on dining table having breakfast. Sarah came and sits opposite to him. She noticed that Jason was not giving her any attention; it means that he is still angry. She thought to herself that may be she is wrong, may be Jason had nothing to do with Roy.

“I am sorry Jason….” Sarah apologized to him with puppy dog eyes because she knew that he was angry at her. Moreover she wanted to know the truth and she knew this already Jason won’t tell her anything if he is angry. She wanted to go to the depth of this whole case but she couldn’t say this in front of Jason. So she came up with this plan to have a smooth relationship with Jason and while he would be away in capital, she will find the truth.

Jason when heard Sarah saying sorry to him, he looked at her. Her puppy dog eyes were enough to melt his heart. “If you are really feeling sorry then don’t bring this matter again” Jason said in low tone

“I won’t”, Sara said with a smile.

Jason took her hand in his hand and patted on the back of her hand. “I love you Sarah. Please don’t push me away like this. We are getting married in few months and I don’t want to hear the name of other man from you. I hope you will understand this and top of that he is a murderer.”

“I understand” She replied while looking at their hands and continue “I was just concerned that’s why I wanted to know about his body because he fell in front of me”

“To tell you the truth, there is no chance he would be alive. He fell from a high place and that height was enough for him to die and the bullet pierced through his heart, so there is no way he would be alive.” Jason said bitterly and squeezed her hand that she started feeling pain. More than pain she was shocked at his words and the tone he used.

“It hurts!!!!!” She screamed with pain and then Jason came to his senses and he loosened the grip on her hand.

“I am so sorry. Are you okay?” He panicked

His mother came running “What happened?”

“Nothing aunty. Where were you?” Sarah said and started rubbing her hand

“I was in the backyard. Why haven’t you two started breakfast?” She said and sit beside Sarah

After breakfast, Jason got ready to leave. He hugged his mother and she kissed his on her forehead. Jason took a glance at Sarah’s hand. It was swollen. “I am sorry Sarah, I used my all strength without realizing it.” He hugged her gently. His mother didn’t ask anything but she knew that something is off between them.

After bidding farewell, Jason headed towards Police department. He gritted his teeth in anger. He was very much angry but didn’t want to show this in his house.

After Jason left, Sarah came to her room and his mother went to her friends. She was a social person. She was a joyful person. She loved her son very much but she loved Sarah too. Sara’s mother was her childhood friend. Even Jason’s father also died while saving Sarah’s father from a robber. Jason and Sarah spent their childhood together too but after few years when his father died, his grandparents convinced his mother to start living with them in this city. Sarah’s parents were still living in their home town.

When Sarah enter in her room, she threw herself onto the bed. She wanted to think a way to meet Roy’s mother and sister. She wanted to know what happened 5 years back that Roy suddenly changed. She wanted to know the reason behind all of this.

It was not an easy thing. She had to find everything by herself without letting Jason know. She was more curious that why Roy killed his half-brother. There were so many questions in her mind. Roy’s face was in her mind. She wasn’t able to forget the moment he was shot in front of her own eyes. She was angry at herself too because she was not able to save him. His last words were still echoing in her mind.

Why you did this Roy?????? I am so confused. Where are you? Just come back and give me the answers of all questions…. She sighed and murmured.

She thought something for a moment and got up and went to the lounge and turned on the TV. She wanted to know anything about Roy. There was no news about Roy or the case. She found it weird. She turned off the TV then she searched online about Roy and the case. She didn’t find anything useful on internet as well. She was furious.

After searching for a while she felt tired and sat on couch closing her eyes, resting her head on couch. She didn’t know when she fell asleep. When she woke up, it was already noon. Jason’s mother was back and making lunch.

Hey auntie, when did you come back? Sorry I fell asleep. Sarah got up rubbing her eyes.

It’s alright dear. Are you feeling well? Jason’s mother asked her with affection.

I am fine auntie. Sarah answered and went to kitchen. What are you cooking?

I am cooking pasta. You love pasta and it’s been very long when I last made pasta for you. Jason’s mother said and patted her head gently.

Jason’s mother was very polite women. She loved Sarah as her own daughter. Her husband Mr. Smith was also very gentle person. He died while saving her father Mr. Williams. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Smith moved to her parents in this city.

During lunch, Mrs. Smith looked at Sarah who was lost in thoughts and not eating, she sighed. She knew something was off between Sarah and her son but she wanted them to sort out everything on their own.
