A better driver, with or without the license

Liora’s pov “I’m so grateful for the fact that you’re able to overlook what I’ve done to you in the past, Madam Liora. I’m really sorry for my attitude and the way I’ve treated you. Pleade try to find it in your heart to forgive me,” Sarah pleaded with joint hands. “Enough enough, I’ve heard you. You can go.” I didn’t for one second take my eyes off the camera of the stalker. And I made sure not to make it known that I’m aware of his location. He hid behind a small tree that camouflaged him well because of the matching colors of his outfit and the tree. “This is probably not his first time,” I clicked my tongue bitterly and remained there for few minutes before rushing to him. I didn’t want him suspecting anything at all so I left the office without telling anyone but through the back door. I crept to the front gate because that was the only entrance and exit. If i rushed at him from this distance then he would definitely gain more distance to run away from me. If I ask the security guards for assistance, they would definitely start screaming or running up to him in an unhinged manner. I’d have to do this myself. “I steadied my pace and came out normally so he wouldn’t suspect anything. I just kept a straight face while walking towards his direction and not even once did I glance at him. He must’ve thought I was heading to the restaurant nearby. He immediately covered the lens of his camera so it won’t draw my attention without knowing I’d seen him already. I threw my weight to the right side where he hid and grabbed on to his camera as tightly as I could and began wrestling with him. “You think it’s appropriate to follow people and stalk them just for headlines and a few bucks?” I threw his camera to the ground and it broke into pieces. Before I could turn to him, he had started running. I wasn’t able to see his face because of the cap he wore so I chased after him. I wasn’t bothered about the pictures he might’ve taken of me today because I’d been in the office since morning. But if he’s here stalking me, there must be another stalking Selene. I need to get him to confess and tell me who’s paying him for this. I chased behind him and yes, I was right, he’s extremely fast. Before I could think, he hopped on his bike and began to zoom off. He had gained some distance with his bike but there was no way I was going to back down to a bike while driving the latest BMW. My driver was on his lunch break but since I was desperate, I decided to drive without a license. And off I went into the main road and i quickly spotted his camo colored shirt. I placed my leg on the accelerator and chased behind him. He turned around to the sound of my vehicle catching up to him so he quickly ran into a small street trying to throw me off but I was relentless. I dived head first ignoring the bumps on the road. He came out in the main road and I had began to wonder what he was actually plotting. After thirty minutes of relentless chasing, he ran through a police point. With how much speed we possessed, the police blocked the road immediately they saw him drive by, forcing me to stop. “What the hell are you doing, get that thing off the road?!” I yelled at the top of my voice with my head outside the window. “You need to step out of the car for some questioning ma’am,” an officer walked up to me with a frown on his face. “I don’t need to do anything. Didn’t you see the way that guy with the bike ran through this checkpoint like it’s owned by his father? You ought to have used your cars and gone after him and here you are interviewing the innocent,” I clicked my tongue out of frustration as I kicked my tires. The stalker had successfully gotten away. “Innocent? Ma’am this checkpoint was set out for the both of you after receiving word that an RX136 and a 2026 BMW had ran past the traffics lights for three bus stops. You do know that’s a crime, right?” The officer asked while taking out his cuffs. “What are you planning to do with those cuffs? The real criminal just passed and you feel the person with the nice car is probably the one at fault? He’s been stalking on me and my family and you think that’s not a crime?” I asked with a perplexed look. “I’ll need to confiscate your drivers license first, ma’am,” he said without a shred of care after what I just said. I gazed into the lane the stalker passed and then at the officers in front of me and then at the people parked behind me complaining. If I had decided not to stop and ran through this checkpoint, I would’ve definitely caught up with the stalker and put an end to this nonsense. “I’ll save you the trouble of further questioning. I Don’t have a license at the moment but I’m quite skilled in driving, am i right? I mean, imagine chasing a tiny bike with my car and not crashing or causing accidents, I’m underrated, am I not?” “Very underrated,” the officer added while cuffing my hands behind my back. “Ma’am, you have the right to remain silent because whatever you say can and will be used against you in the court of law.” “I have the right but not the ability officer! You didn’t make any effort to stop that man but look how you all are stationed here just to get me. I’m the only criminal in the country today, I guess.” They took me to the station and I used my only phone call to summon Selene.
