What is man without problems?

Liora’s pov “You!” Ravenna pointed her finger at me, very close to my eyes. “You’re finally starting to reveal your true colors, right?” “We don’t have the energy for all this, mum. Say what’s on your mind or leave. As it is we’re exhausted,” Selene exhaled sharply out of frustration. She went inside and threw herself on the couch. “Ah!” Selene exclaimed in relief as she took off her heels. I followed behind her and sat on the couch, awaiting the false accusations before i finally retire to my room. “I’ve turned into mockery in my own house, is this the message you’re trying to pass to me, Selene?” Ravenna quizzed with sharp eyes. “No one’s passing any message except you. You’re the one that stopped us from heading to our room. Tell us why you stopped us,” said Selene. Ravenna turned her eyes to me. If glaring could kill, I’d have died a million times over because she was glaring daggers at me. “You’re exhausted, Selene? Of course you would be, when you’ve been dancing on that pole all day. Let’s guess the headlines of tomorrow’s news, shall we? Billionaire Selene Blackwood tiredly strolling out of the strip club after offering lap dances to fifty consecutive men without stopping!” She yelled while pointing her finger at me again. “What the hell are they supposed to talk about after seeing you coming out of that strip club, Selene?! You’re ruining the name you built for yourself! When will you open your eyes and see what’s in front of you for who she is? When will you finally see what I see? Liora is nothing but a deceitful woman that’s here to break your trust and ruin you?!” “Are you done?” Selene asked with a whispering tone followed by a small sigh. She might be right, this time, sister Selene. I’m nothing but a cheat and a deceiver. What type of explaining could I give to save myself from what I’ve done? How can I bring myself to tell you I’m nothing of the sort if I slept with your husband two days before your wedding and is now carrying his child? I just hope that when the truth finally comes out you won’t blame yourself for trusting me blindly. “Up,” Selene said as she lifted my chin. “You’re nothing of what she just described, sister. Your head should be up and not down.” My heart couldn’t bear her constant faith in me. I was so close to tearing up. I mean…if you say all this, wouldn’t my heart just give up out of guilt before you find out the truth? “Selene, there’s something I need to—” “Shameless. Perhaps you should change your name to Selene shameless,” Ravenna interrupted my confession. “You believe a stranger over your own mother. Shame on you, Selene.” Ravenna stared at Selene and I with disgust in her eyes while bitterly shaking her head. “Liora is no stranger, mother! She’s my sister. If you want to coexist in the same house with us then you better learn to let go of your old grudge and move on. The person you have hatred for is six feet under. His bones and flesh have turned into sand. You won’t leave a peaceful life if you decide to continue like this. Goodnight, Liora. I’m going to my room to rest. You should probably do the same. I can’t bear listening to the same rants everyday.” Selene wore an evident frown on her face as she went to bed. “This wouldn’t be happening if I left this house, would it?” I asked while watching Selene angrily stormed out of the living room. “Are you just realizing? My daughter and I used to live in peace. We used to be very happy before you came into our lives. We don’t need you here, Voss! I don’t need you here. You have the same face of your father and that’s what pisses me off the most,” Ravenna clicked her tongue before leaving. I sat there watching her leave with an upset look on my face. I took a deep sigh before throwing the handle of my bag onto my shoulder and heading to my room with my head to the ground. I slipped into the veranda with a cup of coffe I ordered a minute ago. I threw my gaze far at the dark night, nothing. Nothing. Oh, a Mercedes Benz just passed by. It wasn’t like the neighborhood I used to stay in. I let out another sigh before sipping my coffee. By this time, there were more people in the streets than at daytime. My past life was the nightlife but now I’m here gazing at the moon and at the quiet road. I used to worry about my house rent and funds for feeding. I used to worry about sick men trying to force themselves on me when returning from the club. I used to worry about dancing till I’m sweating but not enough to ruin my makeup. But now all I worry about is if I’m bringing a rift between mother and daughter. All I’m worried about is if I even fit in. All I worry about is when my secret will be out. A drop of tear ran from my cheeks and into the empty cup. Physical and mental problems are evidently different. If this was part of rich people problems, then I don’t want. I didn’t sign up for this. I gazed at the moon till I fell asleep. Morning came at us fast and as usual Selene and I finished our morning jog, freshened up and showed up at the dining table just to be greeted with a different good morning. Ravenna slapped the newspaper on the front of the table before we were even able to put food in our mouths. “This,” she pointed at the headlines. “You better know what to do about this because not only are you dragging your name down the mud, you’re doing the same to mine.”
