Liora’s pov
“It’s the same with her everyday. It’s to be expected that I can’t even act surprised or angry anymore,” Selene said as she served herself some of the salad.
Ravenna was fuming terribly this morning. I reached out for the paper and she immediately withdrew her hand like I was some parasite that was about to leech on her.
I gazed at her as she throwed her vision. Selene was right, I was expecting everything she’s currently doing.
“Billionaire Selene Blackwood, lured by her younger sister into the strip club to have a session alongside her. They really outdid themselves with this one. How were they even able to find us? It’s like they’re getting information on our whereabouts at all times because I don’t get how they miss important things going on in the country but can’t afford to miss the opportunity to write about us when we step outside. Absurd, isn’t it?” I pondered.
“It isn’t, Liora. Someone is definitely stalking on us and giving out information on us to those ppl. And believe it, I’m on the verge of sueing the news company,” said Selene as she continued to eat.
“You also outdid yourself, Mrs Blackwood. You almost guessed it word for word,” I said, followed by a light scoff.
“What are you implying, laggard?” She frowned her face and fixed her eyes on me.
“Nothing. You’re really good at guessing,” I returned with a glimmering smile.
I finished my breakfast and immediately headed to work. The atmosphere was as expected. Glares and expressions of furious scowls washed me before I got to my office.
Surely they’ve been plotting their revenge since then.
“Did you see the news paper this morning? It has an interesting headlines. I feel sorry for miss Blackwood,” the receptionist chuckled.
I turned around with a scowl look on my face while glaring at her.
“W-What’s your problem?” She quizzed with a panicking tone.
The month was already about to round up so I was barely getting backlash from employees like I always did because it was that time of the month.
Everyone was cautious of what they said because they believe it would affect their paycheck. While on the other hand, I don’t behave that way. You get paid what you work for no matter what you said or about to say about me.
I had started working when I heard a knock on the door. It was the security man.
“What’s the problem, Jahl?” I asked as I leaned back on my chair.
“Someone is asking for the manager. There’s been a complaint at a 306,” Jahl said while exhaling loudly.
Jahl was one of my very few employees that respected me.
“Vacation people?” I asked with a sour look on my face.
“It’s that time of the month again, it’s unavoidable.”
Vacation people. They’re literally the worst. All they want to do is complain to the manager because they feel the workers are too inferior to them. I got to the room and they didn’t do out of the expected.
“Good morning, I’m the manager of the Blackwood’s. How May I be of service?” Selene taught me to always smile to customers and always speak without mistakes.
“You may only be of service if you do your job properly and sack this incompetent servant of yours,” the shapeless bald headed man said with arrogant tone.
I gazed at the worker she had her head down the entire time like an inferior little dog and instantly, my mood changed.
“I didn’t call you here to hear her side of the story and mine before you come to a conclusion. Just do what I tell you to do all will be settled,” he spoke so high like the world was at his feet.
“You didn’t call me here, sir, you requested. And yes I’m going to ask for the problem. Sarah, what’s the problem?” I asked.
“What’s that have to do with her? I’ve already given you my verdict and I really don’t feel like repeating myself. I’ll have you know that I’m the judge in charge of the Supreme Court in this country and my verdict is permanent and unquestionable. You’d better—”
“Manager speaking to employee, don’t interrupt,” I said with a straight face as I turned back to Sarah.
He was flabbergasted, placing both his hands on his chest and staring at me.
“He came in 30 minutes after the former person using the room checked out. The receptionist made it clear that all rooms were full and the only one person jist checked out and we would need time to clean it up. He insisted that he would use the room like that because he’s in a hurry and now that he’s found several used condoms in their, he’s trying to put the blame on me and our management,” Sarah explained with a whispering tone. I could barely hear her.
“Now tell me why you want me to be calm after witnessing such horrific traumatizing events?!” He asked furiously.
“You’re the one at fault, sir and I can understand why you don’t understand that.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re so blinded by your erextion that you could grasp what the receptionist said. You brought two girls along to enjoy yourself. You couldn’t wait thirty minutes to release now you’re claiming the management for your poor planning. But you know, you could’ve overlooked the rubbers because you’ve got similarities with that person that last used this room,” I cleared my throat out a wide smile on my face. “Now I asked again simce you didn’t hear it the first time, would you like to wait for 30 minutes for the room to be ready or do you want to continue using it?”
“Just clear the condoms on the floor, I’ll use it,” he murmured under his breath. I could barely hear what he said.
I left the scene along with Sarah who had started laughing.
“I’m so sorry for picking on you so much when you’ve always had—”
“Shhh,” I immediately shushed her when I noticed the reflection of the sun on a lens. It’s the stalker.
