Maximus Hawke, 32 years old and currently engaged to an unknown woman who he hasn't introduced yet.
"I don't think she's not ready yet to be introduced to the public. I don't want her to feel uncomfortable."
One of maximus answer to the preconference happened years ago.
Her curiosity led her to dig deeper about maximus hawk, and it the first time she got curious and stalked someone. What she's doing will lead her to a dangerous situation someday, but the problem is she can't stop herself. No matter how she tells herself that maximus will never see her as a woman, she's still stalking him like a creep.
She knows that maximus can get any woman she wants.
Having that sexy body, wealth, and fame, he can attract any woman who looks his way.
She feels sad having that thought on her mind. She can't deny that she's attracted to her boss too, like those other employees, so there's no difference if she says that the boss is boastful of himself. He has the rights after all, since he is one of the hottest and wealthiest billionaire bachelors in Asia.
Closing her laptop, she lay back on the bed and looked at the ceiling, thinking how stupid her body organs are for not functioning well. She was sure that there was something with her right the moment she encountered that CEO. Feeling the beating of her heart while thinking of him, it got her confused all of a sudden. Should she go to the doctor to check her heart?
Shaking her head, she fulls her hair and rolls on the bed until she feels dizzy and falls asleep.
The next morning, Lily woke up earlier than she wakes up every morning. She doesn't know why she feels excited to go to work today. Today was the start of her training at work, so she expected that it would be a busy day. She didn't eat breakfast because she's planning to go to the café near the building and have breakfast there.
She waved goodbye to her mother and kissed her cheek, then headed off to work.
Lily hummed a song while drinking her coffee and walking to her cubicle.
"Good morning Lily!!!!"
She was startled by Sasha, who greeted her good morning. She didn't expect high energy like that in the morning.
"Hey Sasha, good morning too"
"Well, I'm excited to work here today"
She scratched her head at what Sasha said. Honestly speaking, she's excited about it, but for a different reason.
"Hey girls ", Catalena arrives and greets them.
They greeted Catalena back and chatted while the other employees had not arrived yet. While talking, Catalena introduced her to the first task that she's going to do in the training. It's actually not new to her since she took business when she's in college. It's her dream to build her own business in the future. She wanted to have her own baking shop. Her mother introduced her to baked products and baking pastries when she was a little, and she loves baking too, so it's a win-win case for her.
When other employees arrived, Catalena started her training. She finds it a little complicated since her work is about finance, meaning money and numbers, which she hates the most. She never loved mathematics since then, but the business course that she took has a math subject under it, and until now she's amazed at how she survived it.
Catalena told her the things the do's and don't of being a finance assistant, and she understood that there are a lot of serious matters involved in that kind of work since it involves money, and she's not allowed to give information about it to some other employees and the rules written in the contracts she signed before they started.
Lunchtime came, and she didn't notice that it was raining really hard outside. She was engrossed in what she's doing and forgot the time.
She didn't watch the news. That's why she didn't know if there was a typhoon or not. Lily sighed heavily. She wanted to go outside for fresh air, but it seemed like she didn't have a choice but to stay in the cafeteria for lunch. She almost entered the elevator when Faye, one of her co-workers, called her and said that the boss wanted her in his office immediately.
Adrenaline rushed through her body and got nervous all of a sudden. Why would i get nervous? He just needed me for professional matters. Giving herself an assurance that it's okay and be confident, she entered the elevator and pressed the button on the top floor.
Before entering the CEO's office, she took a deep breath and knocked three times.
"Get in", the baritone voice said inside.
She slowly opened the door and walked to the front of the boss's table.
"Good morning sir, Faye told me that you're looking for me?"
"Yes, I wanted to know how your training is."
What the heck! Did he just call me here about my ongoing training? Is he concerned about me? Or maybe I'm just assuming, duhh why would he care for some commoner like me? Maybe he's concerned about me not being able to work to the company's expectations. Hmm, rich people.
"It's going smoothly, sir, but honestly, it's a little hard for me too, since I'm not good with numbers."
Her boss looked at her, amused at what she said.
"Why apply for finance then?"
"Like what I said in the interview, sir, I'm desperate to find work because we have a lot of debt to pay for."
"Hmm ,I see.... If I gave you money, would you stop working?"
"What?! I know that there's no free in this world anymore, so what do you want in return if I agree"
She looked at him right into his eyes. She doesn't care if her boss calls her a golddigger or worst name. She needed money as soon as possible, and she had a reason, deeply, for what other people thought of her.
He looked at her intimately, like he was observing her whole being.
"I have a proposition", the boss said.
Wow, first day of training and the boss already has a proposition for her? What if he's just setting me up, or maybe he needs a bed warmer? No, no, no stop lily, what your thinking is lewd.
"What proposition?"
"Here read this"
Maximus gave her a folder with a contract inside. She sat in the sofa inside the office and read the contract, she didn't care if he's staring at her.
HOLIDAY CONTRACT
{no string attached relationship until the end of New Year's Eve.}
"Are you crazy?! You have a fiancé, and you're looking for a no-string-attached relationship!! That's cheating!!" she angrily spatted at her boss.
Maximus only smiled at her.
She hates how he smiles at her, like he didn't propose some stupid contract to her, but she hates herself more. Her heart beats rapidly because of his smile showing those deep dimples of his.
"I'm not a cheater amore "
"My name is Lily and not amore "
Maximus let out a light chuckled and looked at her amusedly.
She started to get irritated at him. How come that, his acting like that? What a jerk.
"You're not a cheater huh, then what's that proposal? "She looked at him angrily.
Maximus sighed before answering her.
"Yes, I have a fiancé, but we are not really on good terms right now. She's still busy at her career, so i need a partner this coming holiday."
"You can't just do that, Mr. Hawk . First, the public knows that you have a fiancé. Second, you can consider that as cheating. And third, your parents will kill you once they'll know about this."
Maximus just smirked and said
"Let's see about that."
