The man is also a fool. He should have had guards posted well away from the site. But he can’t envisage failure. He’s got away with too much for too long to even conceive that any would dare defy or challenge him. His hubris will be his downfall.
With a gesture to his men, Sadiq dismounted and began to ascend the sand dune. Before he reached the top, he dropped onto his belly and crawled the last of the way. Stretched out on the sand, he inched forward to peer over the brow of the dune.
