Reasons

Michael put his tray of food on the table and took a seat beside his two friends. “Where have you been last night?” Jacob asked while chewing the dried meat. “Just roamed around. Why?” He cut the meat and took a big bite of it. “Hmm I see...but I saw you came from the area near omegas’ cabin. Are you secretly hiding romance with an omega out there?” Jacob gave him a suspicious look. “Well...you can tell us you know.” Peter smirked. “Who is the lucky omega?” “I don’t have a secret relationship with anyone. And even if I have, I won’t tell you so stop being nosy.” He knitted his eyebrows out of irritation. His friends could really be pain in the ass sometimes. “You know that I don’t do romantic relationships.” “Why not?! Being in a relationship would be the best feeling in the world. Besides, you’re not getting any younger. You should try it sometimes.” Peter insisted. Michael shook his head. “For what? To make you vulnerable or ‘cause you pain in the end? A Head Alpha should be tough at all times so as the future Head Alpha, I can’t be weak.” “You can be tough even if you fell in love with someone. It might actually help you to become stronger. Aside from that, the pack will need a Head Omega with you.” “I can have my Head Omega without being in love.” “I know your past experience with your parents made you think in a different way but you have to look at your father now, he found his new happiness...he is stronger now and a great Head Alpha.” Peter explained while Jacob nodding his head agreeing with what being said by his friend. Michael sighed heavily. His parents are sore topic for him until now. “Aren’t you finish? Can we stop this discussion now?” “Wolves are destined to meet their mates whom we will love until our last breath. That’s the gift from Moon Goddess and you can’t avoid that.” Peter continued. Michael gritted his teeth.“I can and I will.” He said with finality in his voice, eyes darted to a certain omega who is sitting few tables apart. —— “How’s the run last night?” Hannah asked the two omegas while eating their breakfast at the pack dining hall. “It was fantastic! Now, I feel like 10x livelier and 100x lovelier.” Chelsea jokingly replied. “Aren’t you full of yourself my dear cousin?” Rina teased. The two began bantering which made Hannah feel lighter. “How about you, Hannah?” Rina asked. “Uhm...nothing special. I just went to sleep early.” She lied. The truth was she wasn’t able to sleep last night. All she could think was the alpha. Michael saved her life twice. He was there whenever she’s in danger. Then last night, he walked her home although he did not speak to her in their entire walk. Hannah knew that Michael is a good alpha, but what she can’t understand is his behaviour. He always looked coldly at her, and sometimes, she feel that the alpha is angry at her. Aside from being a stranger, she couldn’t find any reason for him to be mad at her. She can’t remember anything bad that she did to the alpha or the pack for him to act that way towards her. Last night when they reached her cabin, the alpha looked so frustrated...like he wanted to tell something but decided to keep silent and run away. She felt her wolf being disappointed and upset by the alpha’s behaviour. Another thing which made it hard for her to sleep was her weird feelings when it comes to that alpha. Why was she so affected by his presence? Why does she feel butterflies in her stomach whenever he’s near? Why does his stares made her tense and nervous? There were so many questions run into her head but she wasn’t able to answer those questions no matter how hard she tried to think of. “Hello on earth! Are you still there??” Chelsea snapped her fingers in front of her face. Hannah felt her cheeks heat up. “Sorry. What did you say?” “I was asking you if how’s your wounds now. You seemed like you’ve lost in another dimension.” Chelsea giggled. “Oh! I’m alright...I think my wounds are healing faster because of the herbs aunt Melia gave to me.” she replied, face still painted red on shame. She drove away her thoughts about the alpha and just focused on eating. “We have to go to the nursery today, Hannah. Just stay at our cabin to rest or you may walk around but don’t go too far.” Rina said. They finished their meal and separate ways when they reached outside the dining hall. Hannah felt the cool breeze touched her skin. The omega embraced herself when suddenly, she remembered something...her red cloak! The omega’s eyes widened at the realisation that her new cloak was missing. She can’t see it since the day she was brought here so the cloak might be left somewhere. That cloak was very important for her because that’s the only thing she brought when she escaped from her pack in the South. It was also given by her bestfriend before she left so it holds memory and sentimental value. She needs to find that cloak. The problem was where is she going to start searching for it?
