Where do I have to start? That’s the question rang in Hannah’s mind. She kept on walking absentmindedly when she slammed on a hard chest.
“Watch your steps, omega.” Michael said, an irritation visible on his handsome face.
The omega blushed on shame. “I-I’m sorry, Alpha Michael. I wasn’t looking at my way.”
The alpha just looked at her with cold eyes then was about to walk away when Hannah called him.
“Alpha Michael, may I ask something?”
The alpha stopped walking and turned around to look at her with questioning eyes. “Go ahead.”
“I think I left my cloak somewhere...I’ll search for it in the woods but I want to ask permission first before I go.” Hannah hold her breath, waiting for the alpha’s response.
Michael crossed his arms. “We have extra cloaks in the tailoring section. Just go there and ask for some.”
“Thank you, but my cloak holds sentimental value for me. Someone gave it to me before I left my old pack so I need to find it.”
The alpha furrowed his eyebrows. “Someone?” He asked, something in his eyes sparked but Hannah can’t tell what does it mean.
“Just a friend of mine.” She hurriedly speak. The omega didn’t know why she felt a bit defensive about it.
“Do what you want.” His face hardened. “Just don’t go alone in the forest and be back before the sunset comes.”
“Thank you.” She sighed in relief.
Hannah continued to walk. She’s still using his crutches as support but she’s not in pain now and can walk faster. She just need to bring her medicine with her just in case the pain kicked in while searching.
She dropped by at their cabin. No one was in there because the two other omegas were in duty. The omega suddenly realized that she can’t tell her friends to go with her. The alpha told her not to go alone. Anyway, either alone or not, she must have to find the cloak.
The omega hurriedly put her medicinal herbs in her small bag and then went outside.
“Hey, Hannah!”
Hannah saw Allan running towards her. “I brought you mangoes. Mom told me to give it to you.” He stretched his hands and gave the basket of ripe mangoes.
“Oh! I love mangoes...thank you so much.” Hannah felt her mouth watered. Maybe she will bring some mangoes to eat along the way.
“Wait...are you leaving?” the alpha asked.
“Uhm yes. I’ll search for my cloak in the wood. I think I left it there when the rogues attacked me.” She explained.
“You’ll go there alone?? It’s dangerous for an omega like you to roam around the forest alone, plus with your condition.” His voice laced with worries.
“Rita and Chelsea are in the nursery right now so I’ll just go alone.”
“I have a night duty this week so I’ll go with you.”
“You don’t have to. I don’t want to be a burden.” She said although she can feel the warm in her chest spread. This alpha must really be kind...unlike the other alpha earlier. She can’t help but to compare the two.
“It’s okay.” He smiled tenderly. “Mom likes you a lot and she won’t forgive me if I let you go alone in the woods.”
“Okay...thank you.” she smiled back and they started to walk towards the forest.

Michael had to control his wolf when he saw Hannah and Allan together. He felt his wolf growling and clawing out of his chest. His wolf considered Allan as his rival towards the omega so he’s nagging him to follow the two in the woods.
The alpha breathe hard and ignored his wolf. Don’t be silly...it’s just a waste of time. He told to his wolf. He shook his head to remove the omega in his mind. He has a meeting with his father and the council so he should hurry.
“Am I late?” he asked when he entered the Head Alpha’s den.
“No, son. You’re just in time. So, let’s start the meeting now.” the Head Alpha said, all eyes were on him.
“The Clinton pack has sent a letter suggesting to have a joint training with our alphas and betas.” he announced.
That earned different reaction from the council. “Wouldn’t it be ridiculous to have a joint training? I believe that our alphas and betas are stronger and more skilled than theirs.” One of the council raised his opinion.
“But if we will look at the bigger picture, it will benefit our pack, too.” the older wolf said.
“I think he’s right.” Michael agreed to the latter. “I am confident that our alphas and betas are better than theirs when it comes to fighting and even hunting, but if we are going to look closer, this will be a good way to strengthen our allies with the Clinton pack. Our bond with them can be useful in the future.”
Other wolves in the meeting seemed to agree with Michael. They did a voting process if they will accept the Clinton’s pack proposal or not. Majority has agreed to the proposal and decided to deliver the news to the other pack immediately.
The meeting was adjourned. Michael went outside to go hunting with the other wolves when Peter hurriedly run towards him. His friend looked like in panic.
“There were strange scents and footmarks in the west area. The scents were not familiar so it’s impossible that those came from our neighbour packs. There might be another rogues crossed in our land.”
Michael felt agitated with the news. Rogues can bring another danger to their pack.
Hannah!!! The alpha’s thoughts went to the omega who is currently in the forest. Michael’s eyes flashed red, the word protect chanted in his mind.
