It’s been almost three hours since Allan and Hannah started to search for the latter’s cloak. The omega’s wounds started to throbbed so Allan decided to rest first under the giant oak tree. Hannah took that time to drink her medicine to lessen the pain.
“Are you sure you still want to continue?” Allan said, drinking some water from the bottle he brought before they left the village.
“Yes, that cloak is important for me so I need to find it. I’m sorry for bringing you here with me and wasting your time.” Hannah was getting worried that she’s taking advantage of the alpha’s kindness.
Allan sit on the rock near her. “Hey! I’m the one who insisted to go with you so you don’t have to say sorry. Aside from that, mom told me the story of her with your mother. They were bestfriends...and I’ll be happy if we will become friends, too.” He said, eyes glimmering under the ray of the sunlight.
The omega smiled wholeheartedly. “I’ll be honoured and happy too to become your friend, Allan.” She can’t help it but to remember the friend she left in the South. Allan’s personality really resembles to Nico so she’s glad to have him by her side.
The alpha’s smile got bigger, showing his teeth. “Okay...let’s go now.” He stood up and gave his hand to Hannah to help her stand by her feet.
“I think we should go to the river where the pack found me. The problem was I don’t know where it is located at because I passed out when the rogues harmed me.” She explained while trying to composed herself when she remembered how the rogues attacked her.
Hannah was busy squinting her eyes in the surroundings when Allan stopped all of a sudden. He sniffed the air several times then she saw how the alpha changed his stance, face laced with alarm and worry.
“What is it?” She nervously asked.
“Hannah, when I say run, you must run as fast as you can. If you can shift into your wolf, the better. I will try to distract them.” The alpha said, voice hard and serious. It’s the first time Hannah saw this guy who always talked brightly this serious.
“I can’t understand. And who are you’re talking about? Is there a predator? Or rogues?” The thought have caused shiver to her bones.
The alpha just nod stiffly. Fangs and claws were coming out as he shouted. “RUN!!!”
Before Hannah was able to move to listen to Allan’s command, four male werewolves appeared out of nowhere, surrounding them. The omega was frozen in his feet.
The alpha cursed at himself seeing how they were trapped and surrounded by the unknown werewolves. As from what they look like and smelled, they are rogues alphas.
“What are you doing here in the Jeon land?!” Allan asked, voice loud and firm.
The four wolves looked at each other and then laughed. “Come on...we’re just having fun roaming around at your beautiful land. Isn’t it selfish not allowing others to enter here?” One wolf said throwing playful smirk at them.
The taller wolf sniffed them and stepped a little bit forward. “Oh! There’s a beautiful lady with you. May I know your name, omega?”
Allan immediately blocked Hannah from the rogue’s view and growled. “Go back to where you came. You are not allowed here!”
“Okay. We will leave right now. Just give us that omega and you can go back safely to your home.”
“You wished!” With that, Allan transformed into his wolf and attacked one of the rogues by surprised. He bit hard his throat and took a chunk of it. The rogue wailed in pain, blood seared all over ‘till it collapsed on the ground. The two rogues growled loudly and surged towards the alpha. One of them pinned Allan down while the other one tore his flesh on his shoulder by fangs. Allan tried to released himself from the two wolves. They kept exchanging murderous bites and scratches.
One of the rogues grabbed Hannah on her arms but the omega used her crutch to strike the other wolf in his ribs. The rogue released a growl and about to hit her when someone grabbed the rogue and threw him away. The rogue landed on his back but stood immediately on his feet.
Michael!! Hannah felt somewhat relieved to see the strong alpha. He was now brawling against the rogue who is now bleeding on his nose. Michael’s physique is a lot bigger than the rogue so he quickly finished off the other wolf by ripping his heart out if his chest using his sharp claws.
Hannah looked at the other side to see Allan’s condition. To her relief, there were two wolves from the Jeon pack who helped Allan in fighting the rogues. One caught the rogue on his neck and squeezed it until the rogue became breathless. Other rogue were stabbed by a dagger and ripped his head off.
Hannah run towards Allan who shifted back to human form and let himself laid down on the ground due to exhaustion. There were some open wounds on his stomach and arms.
The omega blamed herself. If she did not insist to search for her cloak, these things wouldn’t happen and Allan wouldn’t be harmed. Her eyes burned but she controlled the tears to let out. She swallowed the guilt and held the injured alpha.
“I’m so sorry, Allan. This is my fault.” She sadly said.
The alpha shook his head and enveloped her small hands with his large one. “Don’t ever think that it’s your fault. You have no control over these beasts. Please don’t blame yourself.”
“And thank you Peter, Jacob...and Alpha Michael for coming.” Allan continued.
“Can you stand up? Here, we’ll help you.” Peter and Jacob helped the injured alpha to stand.
Four werewolves came riding in horses. They helped Allan to ride one while Hannah felt herself floated in the air. She gasped in surprise when Michael lifted her up in a bridal style.
“I don’t know how to ride a horse.” She said shyly. The omega was not able to learn to ride a horse because she wasn’t allowed to in her old pack.
“No need to worry. I’ll ride with you.” The alpha hold her waist and lifted her up ‘till she could sit over the horse back. The alpha followed and position himself at her back.
They all started to move back to the village. During the ride, Hannah felt her heart pounds on her chest, feeling conscious of the alpha’s warm chest against her back.
Maybe the alpha felt her tension so he whispered in her ears. “Just relax.”
Hannah can’t understand but there was like a magic in his words. Her body became pliant against his warm chest and arms. Warmth bloomed in her chest. She started to enjoy the ride with this alpha and his comforting scent of sandalwood.
