“Hey Dad! Wait...” The younger wolf with a bandage on his arms run towards him.
The Head Alpha looked back where the voice came. “Michael! I said you can’t come with us...not now.” He looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. “How can you hunt in that case of yours?” he eyed his arms.
Michael hunt the other day and he encountered a large bear. They wrestled fighting for dominance and life. Before he was able to kill the bear, his arms got bitten hard which cause him large wound and mild bone fracture.
The young alpha did not plan to join them to go hunting in the forest today but something in his guts telling to do so. He can’t understand the feeling but it makes his wolf restless.
“I’ve been resting for three days, dad. I’m bored.” he lied. “Promise, I won’t do much today. I’ll just be your back up just in case you need someone to distract the prey.” the young alpha continued.
“You’re really stubborn, aren’t you? Just don’t dare to hunt with your own. I don’t want your mom to scold me.”
That brought smirk to Michael’s face. His father is known to be a brave and fearless Head Alpha of the Jeon pack. Well, if there’s only one he fears is the Head Omega, his step mother. The Head Alpha is too soft for his mate. He wondered if he will be the same if he will meet his own mate in the future...or maybe not. As the future Head Alpha, he doesn’t want anyone to be his weakness. That’s a big no for him.
All the hunters, including his father shifted into their wolves. Michael stayed in his human form. Shifting with a mild bone fracture will not be a good idea.
They started walking towards the forest. Each wolf used their sense of smell to locate possible prey- rabbits, deer, wild boar, snakes, and bear.
The pack is growing and they need to take down more prey so every hunter were determined to hunt for more and larger prey to take home.
Male wolves, mostly alphas and betas, starting to hunt at the age of sixteen. But Michael, as the son of the Head Alpha, started at twelve.
Aside from hunting, he’s also joining other wolves to guard their territory against the rogue wolves and other intruders.
The sun was about to set. Michael has managed to kill two rabbits earlier. Still, he’s quite disappointed at himself because he usually bring home larger prey. The larger the prey, the better.
Other wolves have already some dead prey in their mouth. Others transformed back into human form to carry the dead animals properly.
While waiting for other wolves to return at the site where they supposed to meet, Michael heard a strange noise. He told the other wolves who where chatting to be quiet. Then they all heard a high-pitch howl, it’s louder this time.
There’s a sudden kick in Michael’s chest. His wolf felt agitated and wanted to claw out of his chest...wanting to run and find the source of the scream.
Before he can think, the alpha shifted into his wolf, eyes flashing red and dashed to where the sound came from.

“twelve...thirteen...” Hannah heard the count echoed in the forest. She transformed into her wolf, brought the new red cloak using her mouth and run faster than ever. Her adrenaline doubled, wanted nothing but to far away from them.
“nineteen...twenty...” That was the last count Hannah have heard, means that she’s getting far from where the rogues at.
The omega continued to run. She’s tired, thirsty and hungry but she needs to create more distance from them. She knows they can track her smell.
Hannah tripped and fell for few times but the omega was determined to continue escaping. She can’t stop running if she wants to live.
It’s almost sunset when she heard a flow of water nearby. Her ears twitched trying to locate where the sounds coming from.
Hannah run down in a slope and there, she saw a clear river with a low falls at the corner. The omega let herself drink a little to subside the itchiness of her throat.
She’s about to cross the river when she fell face front on the river side. The omega groaned in pain.
“Game over!”
The rogue pinned her by its large black wolf form.
“Surprise, b***h! Don’t you ever think you can outrun us. You’re nothing but a weak omega.” The other wolf in a human form said mockingly.
“Now the playtime is over, it’s time for the real fun.”
The wolf on top of her sunk its fangs on shoulder, tearing her skin and flesh. Blood tainted her gray fur. The omega howled with pain and agony.
She tried to roll off to freed herself but it’s no use...the larger wolf is much stronger than her.
Another sear of pain was felt when the wolf use its claw to deeply scratch her back. The omega let another howl, asking for help, when she felt another bite in her legs caused by the wolf in its human form.
Hannah can’t take it anymore. Black spots swimming in her gray eyes. She started to lose consciousness when she heard a deep thunder-like growl.
The omega tried to open her hazy eyes and few metres from them, she saw a massive black wolf standing on the large rock.
The last thing she saw before the dark enveloped her was that big black wolf run closer to them, baring its white large fangs, ready to kill.
