The sky mirrored the expression of her mind - grey and gloomy. The strong breeze brushed past her, blowing her raven black hair and a very matching whole-black dress.
Sierra Evergreen knew right at that moment that the pure happiness that she owned had died with the plane crash – with her sister and mother.
A lone tear left her eye as she recalled all the memories, how both the sisters used to go shopping, used to watch movies together, used to dress the same, have sleepovers, boy talks and how she won’t ever be able to do that anymore because her sister was everything to her.
Even though she had tons of friends at school, none were her real friend; they were after her money. The only real friend she had, left her.
The only thing she had was her sister, Sally but God was too cruel with her.
She was devastated.
Although she lost her mom along with her sister, she didn’t feel the loss of mom that much.
From her childhood, it was her sister who looked after her, gave her a mother’s love, an elder sister’s care, and a best friend’s joy. She had all the happiness she ever wanted.
She wasn’t an orphan; she had her father. But when did she ever feel his presence?
He was always on a business trip. That was his life- business. He barely ever cared about his family. Even on this devastating event, he was away on a business trip.
He didn’t even call Sierra to comfort her. Why would he even? Did he know how to care? Does he know what a family is, what love is?
He is just like a stone – cold and without feelings.
She had always known that her father married her mother because he wanted the largest fashion company. He wanted to be the owner. Did he even love her a bit?
Well, people used to say that her parents were the sweetest couple but she knew better. He was a good actor and he would always put up an admiring show in front of outsiders.
Well, he got what he wanted. He is now the owner. Who knows what he might do to remove her rights from getting the company in the future as she was the only heir remaining.
Well, all that she knew was that even though she had a father she was going to feel like an orphan.
The rain poured heavily on her, mixing with her tears and drenching her but she had no energy or will to move. She didn’t want to leave her sister alone in the dark undergrounds. But she had to.
What will her life be like now? A hell-hole or a happily ever after where a prince charming comes and sweeps her off her feet?
All she could do was wait and watch the future events unfold but she didn’t even have the will to live anymore. She wanted to go to her sister.
Slowly she felt her consciousness slipping away. She had no worries about being left on the ground and left to die because that will just help to see her sister sooner. But God had other plans.
There were many more people left in the cemetery yet to notice her, especially that one person that had been observing her for a long time – since she entered the cemetery.
Before completely losing consciousness, she felt a pair of strong arms holding her and saving her from hitting the ground...
