Davine had been training for a few hours and she couldn't take much more. She was about to fall asleep. After last night she initially relieved that she wasn't working with Ethan in the morning, but slowly things got more boring and she was dying for a little excitement.
"Have you met Ethan yet?" Smiled the woman training her. The women's name was Jen, she was the same age as Davine if not a little older. Davine had just turned 28 and she guessed Jen was in her early 30's as she had been working at the company for over 5 years now. "He's not in the office too much but he does make it a point to meet everyone."
"Oh yeah, I've met him. He seems very nice." Davine nodded and smiled. She wasn't sure how much she could say as far as that goes. She would have to check with James later.
"Isn't he handsome?!" Jen gushed, causing Davine to think about her dream last night.
"Yes he is." She tried not to blush but her face was becoming hot.
"I swear just about every woman here has a crush on him. I'm in a serious relationship now but when I first started I always dreamed of him asking me out. Sadly, I hear he never dates though. And at 30, you'd think he would be wanting to settle down." Jen nodded thoughtfully.
"You would think so." She smiled a little. Now she understood why all of this was happening. Jen continued to chat as she showed Davine different things in the calendar. Jen was one of Ethan's top assistants. She was moving to be head of them and Davine was taking her spot. Jen said she was sad she wouldn't be working as close with Ethan but she was happy that her work was being recognized. Davine congratulated her. She would be more interested in the conversation if she didn't know what she could say and what she couldn't. Just when she thought she couldn't take any more James showed up.
"Hello Miss Davine, I hope your training is going well but I'm going to have to steal you away for a bit. " James smiled a bit. He had a nice smile Davine decided.
"Do I need to bring anything?" Davine asked as she stood up, putting the chair she was borrowing back.
"Why don't you bring all your stuff and your notebook, we'll be going over some more general company policies with you." James replied and Davine nodded. She grabbed all of her stuff and put her notebook in her bag before following him. Once they were in the elevator he turned to her. "You'll be spending the rest of the day with Ethan."
"Oh okay," She tried not to blush again. "Do you mind if I ask you some questions on the way?" James didn't mind and she went over what she had been wondering. Davine and Ethan were going to go on some more dates before they went public with the information they were seeing each other, so she did the right thing in not mentioning it to anyone. They were going to make it seem like they dated before she came to work there and then he got her the job. Closest to the truth, plus it doesn't make him look bad.
The rounded the final corner to his office and Davine stopped in her tracks. It was exactly how it looked in her dream. She quickly adjusted her clothing then caught up with James just before they entered.
"Ready for a long night Davine?" Ethan asked after saying hello to James. He licked his lips a little as a brief thought of his dream last night passed through his head. He had to blink to keep his eyes from changing. He didn't mention this last night but when his eyes changed that was because he was getting turned on. Probably best she doesn't know that. For now anyways.
"A long night?" She bit her own lip, too distracted by her own thoughts to notice him lick his lips.
"Yeah, I got a lot of work and I'm going to need some help. Mostly note taking but if you have any ideas that's great too." He smiled at her. His smile was so bright she had to fight off blushing.
"Okay Sir." She smiled and took a seat. Ethan handed her a laptop, to take notes on. He spoke to James a bit before he left and they got to work. Ethan moved around the office while she stayed in her seat, typing what he was saying for hours. Occasionally he would draw on the glass with erasable marker. She didn't have much time to admire him but she was still able to notice how handsome he was when he was thinking hard. Sometimes when he was thinking hard he was actually checking her out, not that she had any idea. When it was time to eat, people brought food in as they worked well past dinner. At around 10:00PM he slid into the chair next to her.
"Be sure to email me a copy of all the notes you've taken and put it on the shared drive." He instructed her. "That's probably enough for tonight. You had some pretty good input." He smiled at her, and Davine smiled back brightly. "And you have a beautiful smile." She blushed brightly, she couldn't help herself.
"Thank you Ethan." She smiled bigger. "Your smile is amazing." She told him. His smile grew bigger. He leaned in close to her and nuzzled her cheek.
"I'm getting tired." He mumbled softly, his breath on her cheek.
"Me too," She whispered gently. He closed his eyes and leaned into her more. She could now feel his lips on her cheek. She started thinking about her dream again. She had a warm feeling between her legs, building into her stomach. He lifted his head off her.
"Sorry, that was probably a mistake." He said with a small smile, like he didn't actually believe his words. She shook her head gently and put her hand on his thigh.
"I can handle myself if you can." She smiled and he leaned in to kiss her. He started softly but the kiss quickly got rough and hungry. He pulled away, both of them breathing heavily.
"I'll call you a car. We'll have a date tomorrow, and this time we'll be kissing in public." He smiled softly and she nodded before they both stood up. He got up and made a phone call. "They'll be there by the time you get down there. Do you need me to walk you out?"
"Yes," She chuckled softly. "The office is a bit of a maze." He smiled and put his hand on her back as he led her to the elevator. They both got in their own cars and went home.
