CHAPTER THIRTY Christopher was floating in a black sea, beneath a black sky, filled with stars. He didn’t know where he was, or when, but there was an aching yearning sensation in his chest. The Scepter of Fire had been taken from him and he would do anything to get it back. He’d go to the ends of the earth. If, that was, he was actually on earth anymore. Suddenly, he felt a strange lurching sensation, as if gravity itself had momentarily let go. He found himself upside down, spinning, floating, terrified. It was just like being in the void.
