Her Only Opponent

Asteria got up early to visit the House of the Mistress. She chooses to wear a pair of single breasted blazer, and matching high waist pants with a see through corset like top underneath. She also tied her hair in a bun and wears red high heels.

After looking at herself in the mirror for almost forever, finally she gets satisfied on her look. She walks towards the door and opens it, leading to the door of the house of the Mistress. Asteria has no choice but to use her ability especially now that she’s late for her appointment with the Mistress.

The Mistress called her last evening by sending a bird feather through the wind. That way of informing means whatever the Mistress will say is confidential and no one should know that she was called. Even the other God and Goddesses couldn’t know why and what will happen during the talk, even if they found out that she was summoned by tbe Mistress.

The sound of her heels filled the empty hallway of the house, and at the end of the hall she saw the mistress busy reading a scroll. Asteria suddenly turned invisible and teleports herself beside the Mistress without making any noises.

She motioned her hands that makes the scroll levitate. The Mistress stood up and looked to her direction. Annoyance was drawn all over the Mistress’ face that made Asteria to laugh. As she motioned her hands again, the scroll starts to descend slowly.

The Mistress didn’t even bother to look at the scroll, instead she looks at Asteria intently, even if she’s still invisible. The gazes she gave to Asteria were so intimidating and Asteria sense it. When Asteria couldn’t stand it anymore, she showed herself to the Mistress. She calmly put her hands on the pocket of her pants and greeted the Mistress. "A pleasant morning Madame" Then she smiled teasingly to her.

"What a ruined morning Asteria" The mistress answered back and seated.

"Should I consider it a mission accomplished too?" Asteria jokingly said and take a seat in front of the mistress' table.

The mistress just gave her an emotionless stare and Asteria just laughed and looked she doesn't even care at all. She continues to laugh not until the Mistress clears her throat.

"Goddess Asteria, I just want to remind you that in terms of power and position I am your superior. So be careful, I’m not that patient" The Mistress warned. Asteria always annoys her, on her every single visit. 

The moment she heard it, she suddenly became as gentle a lamb. The fearless Asteria is nowhere to be seen now. Asteria continues to act gentle – as if it was her nature and the Mistress has no choice but to broke the silence after a minute of silence.

"Mind telling me how come I didn't notice your presence earlier?" She asked Asteria in much more less intimidating presense.

Asteria proudly smiled and said "Like what you've said Madame, I am a goddess so I’m quite powerful" Then she winked at the mistress. "So basically I use my teleportation through the door of my house and yours, and maybe that's why you didn't notice my presence invading to your territory. Then when I walked on the quiet hallway - though the sound of my heels filled through it - I used my ability to conceal my presence and got invisible as soon as I came near you and then, I proceed to ruin your morning" She added almost laughing. The fearless Asteria slowly coming back again.

"Okay, that's a bit impressive---" The Mistress commented but Asteria cut her off.

"I know right Madame, but I think IT’S impressive not just a BIT" She replied, emphasizing some words. The mistress threw a warning stare at her and again caused her to shut up.

"But the thing is you’re in danger Asteria. That's why I called you" The Mistress continued.

Asteria frowned upon hearing that. She began to think and be curious about it, knowing she’s already an immortal and powerful so how come she’s on danger?

"What do you mean Madame? How come?" Her voice was full of curiosity as she asked the Mistress.

"The thing is, your only opponent is living for a year now" She became more curious after hearing what the Mistress said. The curiosity visible on Asteria’s face was understood by the Mistress so she continues to explain. "I was informed by the superiors last night regarding with this. They notice that your fate has been changed and investigated why. They soon found out your only opponent was born before you and uses a strong kind of magic to keep it a secret" Asteria was left dumbfounded after hearing that. She couldn't even breath properly. Many thoughts cross her mind – even her emotions were mixed.

"Asteria you need to be careful. The fact that your opponent slowly showing up means he’s confident that he can match or worst surpass your power" The mistress said on a warning voice.

“Asteria, this opponent of yours is a threat to your life, so try your best to be safe okay? I will help you – the superiors can also help you. Be ready whatever may happen, don’t let your guard down”.  The Mistress added. She looks at Asteria – who’s now looked oblivious and uneasy.

Even the Mistress couldn’t believe it. How can an immortal with such a great power have a life threatening problem on her life?

"Asteria you need to be careful. The fact that your opponent slowly showing up means he is confident that he can match or worst surpass your power" What the mistress' said kept on repeating on her mind. The moment she hears it until the time she got back home. After hearing it, she carelessly stood up and walked away and found herself on her house.

Then she remembered the book that the mistress gave her. When she looked at her hand, she saw the book she was holding. Before she could leave, the Mistress called her to give the book. The book was titled "The Golden Goddess" the mistress said that it can help her to learn her identity - that she herself know nothing about it.
