Part 2

222 Words
Part 2 The following days passed slowly, each one carrying the same weight she had grown used to. She woke before sunrise, finished the household chores, and left the house with a quiet determination that no one seemed to notice. People saw an ordinary girl walking down the road, but they could not see the storm she carried inside her heart. She watched other families laughing together, sharing meals and stories, and wondered what it felt like to belong somewhere without fear. The question stayed with her as she walked through crowded streets, where everyone seemed to be chasing happiness while she searched only for peace. One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead, and a sudden rain forced her to take shelter beneath an old tree. As the rain poured down, she realized that storms never lasted forever. Eventually, the sky always cleared. That simple thought settled deep within her, becoming something she could hold on to when everything else felt uncertain. She returned home soaked by the rain but strangely lighter. Nothing around her had changed, yet something inside her had. For the first time in years, she allowed herself to imagine a future that was not defined by pain. It was only a small spark of hope, but sometimes the smallest light is enough to guide someone through the darkest night.
