The employee kindly placed the emerald pipe before Jenna.
She took it up and examined it. There was a tiny red area around the base of the tobacco pipe.
'So this is the real one.' Jenna thought to herself.
"Thank you," Jenna said to the employee.
She paid no attention to the two women who were in her peripheral view.
Dianne was unable to tolerate it any longer and snorted icily.
"Are your eyes on your feet, Jenna? Are you not aware of how to act civil when you see your elders?"
'How did she handle me in the past? She never dealt with me fairly when I was her daughter-in-law and anticipates that I would now treat her as an elder?'
