“FBSI?” the officer asked in amazement. “How did you get here so fast? I just heard that the docking station has been completely destroyed. No shuttles will be able to land for the time being.”
“I was already here,” Xiaobo said.
The officer looked at him suspiciously. “Alone?”
“No,” Xiaobo sighed. “Not alone.”
“How many men are you here with?”
“Look, I don’t have time for this. Where’s the Commissioner?”
The officer seemed to look at him even more suspiciously. Itched nervously on his chin. The explosion that destroyed much of the residential complex had not yet been claimed. Caution was advised now that the police station was virtually unmanned. All available staff were deployed and helping the residents on the spot. “I haven’t seen your ID yet,” he said suspiciously.
