Clueless Girl

1886 Words
Tanya stayed overnight with Vane; she asked her cousin to help her apply a chemical to her hair to regain its natural color. All the Coldwell women were blondes with blue eyes, but they would change their appearance according to the target they aimed to conquer. Every man had a particular characteristic they appreciated in a girl, and the Coldwell women had to adapt accordingly. Wigs and colored contact lenses were common accessories, but Tanya's target was an Olympic diving expert. So, she joined the swimming classes he was teaching and opted to dye her hair to avoid any issues—men seemed to go crazy for girls with hair as black as ebony. "I hope I haven't ruined my hair; black is an intense color, hard to remove," Tanya expressed concern. "Well, it's coming out perfectly. I don't think you need to worry about it," reassured Vane as she washed her cousin's long hair. After drying her hair, Tanya didn't take long to fall asleep. She wanted to take charge of one of the targets presented to choose for Vane, but she was convinced by Katrina that she would handle it. Vane couldn't sleep that night, pondering over everything her cousins had told her. Sara and Katrina seemed irresistible to men, mastering all the tactics they tried to teach her perfectly. The next morning, Darius worried when he saw her expression; it was evident she had spent the night wide awake. He thought it might be due to the pressure their mother and grandmother put on her. "Are you okay, little one?" Darius inquired. "I'm fine, just a bit of insomnia," replied Vane. "Vane, you know I don't agree with all of this. I've always thought what our family does is complete madness. Everyone already has enough money to retire, and the businesses are thriving. But they won't stop, and they won't because they enjoy doing this." "Shhh, you know if Grandma or Mom hears you, they'll send you away again, and I don't want that. I miss you a lot when you're not here." "I miss you too, little one, always," Darius said, approaching Vane to embrace her. At that moment, Grandma entered the kitchen where they were having breakfast. "I see my kids are very emotional today. Is something going on?" "Nothing, Grandma, just that I missed Darius a lot, and I'm happy he's back to stay," Vane replied. "I'm pleased to see the great love between you. We all love Darius; he's our only Coldwell boy." Darius and Vane exchanged glances at the grandmother's words; they knew there were more Coldwell men. Several children had been given up for adoption after birth. The siblings had discussed in the past that they might one day search for them. "You two have gone silent. I insist, is something wrong?" "No, Grandma, it's just that if I don't hurry, I'll be late for work, and my boss, the ogre, won't forgive it. See you later." Vane bid farewell, giving a kiss to her grandmother and another to her brother. That day, Katrina would meet her new target, Evenus Baltimore. The man seemed to have a taste for conquering young, inexperienced girls, specifically seeking virgins to feel secure without taking precautions. When they ended up pregnant, he forced them to undergo abortions. He behaved like a true Casanova, although he was married to a rich heiress, a girl as capricious as she was beautiful. Due to her constant tantrums, Evenus sought adventures everywhere to relax. He was just an employee in the girl's father's company; he conquered her and they got married. He threatened his conquests to keep quiet, knowing that if his wife found out about his constant affairs, she would kick him out, ruining him. Katrina arrived at the yacht club event looking stunning. She wore a fiery red wig, making it nearly impossible not to notice her wherever she went. A short, designer dress in white, paired with sunglasses, gave her an enigmatic air. Evenus had sponsored a new yacht that day for one of his business partners. He was talking to some men when he noticed Katrina's presence. She wasn't the naive type he usually pursued, but she was undeniably beautiful. "Goodness, have you seen this goddess?" exclaimed his business partner. Evenus just smiled; he wasn't accustomed to being so obvious. He discreetly observed all of Katrina's movements. At the end of the event, when his partner and the other men had left, he found an excuse to approach her. "Excuse me if I'm being intrusive, but do I know you? I watched you when you came in, and I thought, this beautiful girl, I feel like I know her from somewhere, but no matter how much I think about it, I can't remember." "Hello, I don't think so. I would never forget meeting such an attractive man, and you are." Katrina smiled, staring into his eyes. Without breaking eye contact, she brought the glass she was holding to her lips. Evenus followed the movement of the glass with his gaze, a smirk forming. Katrina observed him intently; he was a very handsome man, too bad he was a complete jerk. "My name is Evenus Baltimore," he said, extending his hand towards her. "Angelina Dogman," Katrina replied, extending her hand to reciprocate the greeting. Evenus took her hand and placed a delicate kiss on it. "Baltimore, do you belong to the cruise company?" "Yes, I'm the owner," Evenus replied. In a way, he wasn't lying. The capital he had used to start the company belonged to his wife, whom he had subtly convinced to put her last name on the company. But that was all it was; on paper, she was the owner. "That's great. I'm starting a small business with tourist yachts." "Interesting. I could give you some advice if you allow me." "Would you do that for me?" she asked, displaying her most charming smile. "It would be my pleasure. I'll give you my business card, and you could give me yours, Miss Dogman, so we can arrange to meet, and I can put all my knowledge at your disposal." Evenus handed his business card to Katrina. She handed hers, which of course had a fake name and other false details; the only real thing was the phone number, one she would only use to talk to him. After completing the mission, she would destroy the chip, just as she did in every case. They said goodbye for the day. Evenus accompanied her to the exit, the redhead got into her car, a big smile on her face. All these men were so predictable. They thought of themselves as conquerors, strong, but the reality was that they were weak, which made it so easy to conquer them quickly. In the office, Vanessa entered the meeting room where Dante was meeting with some of his partners. She was responsible for distributing folders with relevant information for the meeting as the secretary had a personal issue and was absent for the day. "Your secretary is truly beautiful, a very lovely girl," one of Dante's mature partners remarked, eyeing Vanessa lustfully. "She's my assistant; my secretary had to take the day off," Dante replied. "Well, even better for you, my friend. I wish I had such a beautiful personal assistant." Dante was on the verge of responding with irritation. He didn't like the idea of people trying to flirt within his company; it was his territory, and he was very protective of it. As Vanessa approached them to place the respective folders in front, Vane couldn't help herself. She had two left feet, tripped, and fell onto Dante's legs at an incredible speed. Dante couldn't believe it; there she was again, that clumsy girl on top of him. "Damn it, get off," he almost shouted, feeling the girl sitting on his legs. Even though he didn't want to admit it, his body always reacted to her touch. "I'm sorry, sir. I apologize," Vane quickly got up. Dante's partner found it amusing to see the girl's face turning red. "Leave the room; your presence here is no longer necessary. I'll call you if I need you," Dante ordered. "But you asked me to take note of the relevant points of the meeting," Vane protested. "It's no longer necessary; get out of here immediately." Vane left in a hurry, feeling embarrassed with herself. She wanted to appear sexy to her boss, and she had only ended up looking foolish. She locked herself in the bathroom to call Katrina. "Don't cry, little one. Accidents happen, and nobody can escape them. So, wipe those tears, go back to your workplace with your head held high." "For her cousins, being sensual was so easy. For her, it was proving very difficult. Sometimes she wondered if the stork hadn't made a mistake with her family." She wiped away the tears streaming down her face, returned to her workplace, and shortly after, the businessmen who attended the meeting left. The man who had been talking to Dante about her beauty approached her. "Miss, I want to apologize for laughing at what happened. I quite like you. My name is Sergio Ferrat; you can find my number on this card. If you ever leave this job for any reason, feel free to call me. It would be my pleasure to have you as my executive secretary." Vane took the card and timidly thanked the man for his offer. Dante approached at that moment, not liking at all what his partner was doing. "Miss, return Mr. Ferrat his card. You already have a job, and it's in this company. As for you, Sergio, I'll ask you to respect my employees. It's not right for you to come here to my company to bother them." The man took the card Vanessa offered him, then apologized to Dante and to the girl. Vane watched him walk away down the hallway. "You must be careful, miss. I assure you, Sergio is looking for you to be more than just his assistant. Personally, I can tell you that I didn't like that you accepted his card. Remember that you've signed a contract with us; you have to fulfill your job here for at least six months." "I know, sir. I only accepted the card out of courtesy." "It would be good for you to forget about courtesy occasionally. That way, you can keep the advances at bay. Now, bring me a coffee to my office, and for God's sake, don't spill it on me." Vane felt even more embarrassed hearing him. She watched him walk slowly to his office, unconsciously biting her lower lip. That man had grace in everything he did; just seeing him walk was a pleasant sight for the female gender. When Vane realized her thoughts, she scolded herself harshly. She had to get used to the idea that this man was not good, and above all, he was her target. Inside his office, Dante felt confused. He didn't understand why he had been so bothered by Sergio noticing his assistant. Vanessa Sanders was very beautiful, but too clumsy for his taste. Besides, he couldn't afford to entertain other thoughts about this girl; she was his employee, and he had just met her.
