The rivalry began in earnest, but unfortunately, Landon's duties would not wait for his competition with his brother to be over. For weeks, he and Adrian had been vying for Evangeline's affections, but even though Landon knew he already had her eyes, he still felt slightly insecure because Adrian had more time to spend with her. Shaking his head to rid himself of the stray thoughts, he continued reading over the paperwork given to him by his vassal Chris, who was waiting on standby for orders.
"Milord?" Chris asked causing Landon to startle slightly. "You seem to be distracted. Is there anything I can get for you?"
This gave Landon a wonderful idea, something he could do to take his mind off work and let him get his thoughts out to Evangeline. A smile brightened his fea
