Chapter Five: Public SurrenderHer mouth has gone completely dry by the end of the auction and she's clutching her fingers together tightly to keep her shivering to herself.
Victor wins the Auction with a ridiculous bid of ten thousand dollars, a sum he had called out when the bid was five thousand and no one even attempted to outbid him after that.
No one has ever gone for that much before.
He stalks towards her like a predator approaching a prey and she can't help but flinch away from him. She's no longer in control.
"Would you be as brave now that I'm the one in control?" he hums once he's close enough to breath the words in her ear. She shudders.
"Sir?" she shudders.
"Let's get the words over with, shall we?" he asks.
