Mixed Emotions

Konan finishes his beer and I follow suit, gulping the last of the cold drink down. He takes me by my hand and we rush giddily to the only clear space of the tavern, in front of the musicians. They play an upbeat song and Konan twirls me around in circles. We got lost in the fast paced music, our bodies moving in whatever way they please. I wrap my arms around Konan’s neck, his hands rest on my hips. The space around us soon fills up with the locals and they join in the dance, everyone laughing loudly as they jump around and throw caution to the wind. Bodies bang off bodies, people spill the drinks in their hands, yet nobody cares. There are no expectations here, no rules on etiquette or judging eyes. It really is the happiest place in the world. “I need another drink!” Shouts Konan ov
