After such an intense morning I feel completely drained. My mother retired to our apartments, with the King's knight hot on her heels. I ordered some food be sent to her, while asking for some to be delivered to the garden for me. I go outside and fall into one the chairs around a small table. The sun is warm on my face, the light breeze soothing my anxiety.  I hear a growl and open my eyes to see Serephina peeking over the garden wall, her front claws gripping the bricks. She studies me for a while before disappearing again, and after a few seconds, I see her taking off into the sky. She circles the air above me, keeping watch.  A servant brings out my food and some warm tea.
