The minutes and hours tick by. I slowly begin to lose hope and maybe, go a little mad. The only lantern in this forsaken room has long gone out, leaving me completely in the darkness. I don't know how long I've been in here. It could be hours, it could be days. My mind is playing tricks on me in this solitude and I long for nothing more than to get out of here. I'm thirsty and hungry and tired, but I refuse to sleep. If someone happens to open that door, I don't want to miss my opportunity to run or attack, whatever gives me the best odds of escaping. I have been praying to the Gods for Serephina to arrive, but every prayer has gone unanswered. And that leaves me with just one conclusion; something bad has happened to my dragon too.
