"What did you just say?"
Christopher Harrison stood there, stunned for a good few seconds before he finally found his voice.
“Evelyn… she’s married,” Vivian repeated calmly.
"No way!" Chris jumped to his feet, face full of disbelief.
In his sudden movement, his coffee spilled all over the table.
“There’s no such thing as impossible,” Vivian said, sipping her coffee casually. “Just like a childhood sweetheart can break your heart one day.”
Chris’s expression darkened. His well-defined features twisted slightly.
But deep down, he knew — he was the one who messed up. He’d brought it on himself. No matter how harsh the backlash, he had it coming.
“I want to see her. Where is she?” he asked urgently.
Vivian smiled faintly. “Chris, you’re 22 now, right?”
